TON, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION FOR

WHEREAS, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1102 of the City of
Tukwila, passed by the City Council on July 21 1975, fixes
the compensation to be paid to each member of the City Council at
the rate of two+ hundred dollars per month, and
WHEREAS, since the adoption of Ordinance No. 1102, the
time commitment required of City Councilmembers has greatly
increased without any corresponding increase in compensation,
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Compensation of Councilmembers. Pursuant
to the provisions of RCW 35A.12.070, each member of the City
Council of the City of Tukwila whose term of office commences on
or after the effective date of this ordinance shall be compen-
sated at the rate of four hundred dollars per month.
Section 2. Repealer. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1102,
passed by the City Council on February 5, 1979, is hereby
repealed.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect five (5) days after passage and publication
as provided by law.
