AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
REINSTATING THE BUILDING INSPECTOR POSITION AS A FULL
TIME POSITION WITHIN THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT, AMENDING
THE 1985 BUDGET ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1340 OF THE
CITY, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON DECEMBER 17, 1984,
TO TRANSFER FUNDS WITHIN THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT BUDGET
FROM PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO SALARIES AND BENEFITS AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, at the time of adoption of the 1985 budget, the Building
Inspector position within the Planning Department was not considered to be
a full time position, and
WHEREAS, due to an increase in building activity within the City,
the administration has recommended and the City Council concurs that the
Building Inspector position should be a full time position within the
Planning Department, and
WHEREAS, making the Building Inspector position a full time
position will result in additional salary and benefits being paid to the
person holding that position, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that excess revenues
exist in line item 08 559 600 41 Professional Services Plan Check and
Inspection within the Planning Department budget which may be used to
provide the necessary funds to pay salary and benefits to a full time
Building Inspector, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Full Time Building Inspector. The position of
Building Inspector within the Planning Department is hereby reinstated as
a full time position.
Section 2. Amendment of Budget. The final budget for the fiscal
year 1985, as adopted by Ordinance No. 1340, passed by the City Council on
December 17, 1984, is hereby amended by decreasing appropriations for line
item number 08 559 600 41 Professional Services Plan Check and Inspec-
tion within the Current Fund No. 000 by the sum of $10,940 and by increas-

ing appropriations for the following described line items by the amounts
specified below in order to provide for the salary and benefits for a full
time Building Inspector:

Section 3. Duties of Finance Director. The Finance Director is
hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the necessary changes to the
1985 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item entries
and adjustments in order to reflect the amendments set forth in this
ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by
law.
