HomeMy WebLinkAbout1913-08-12 Regular Minutes 81 t Tukwila, Washington, August 12th, 1913. The regular monthly meeting of the Town Council was held on the above date, being called to order by the Mayor at the hour of 8:20 P.M. There were present: J. M. Hall, Mayor. E.E.Lutz, H. W. Engel and D. F. Williams, Councilmen. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Streets and Allevs: Mr. Rngel.-stated that the Street work was about completed with the exception to some repairs needed for drains and ditches. He recommended that this be deferred until the rainy weather begirs on account of the ground being so hard and dry it is difficult and costly to work at the present time. Reitz Avenue will be completed as soon as buildings situated thereon have been raised. Laws and Ordinances: Mr. Engel stated that Ordinances Nos. 34 and 35 had been pre- pared for consideration in pursuance to instructions of Council at last meeting. The following bills were read, approved, and warrants ordered drawn in their payment: Antone Dollar, 43.30; Pacific Coast Stamp works, 2.25; Chas. Mlanster, 48.00; C.L.Sanders, 40.40; Russ Lambert, 72.00; Russ Lambert, 6.50; Er F.Doty, 10.0Q; J.P.Hartill, 30.00; Ed. Lewis, 60.50; R'.E.Ives, 23.80; O.E.Santhuff, 24.00; „dra. Irene Wolbert, 54.00; Mrs. Caroline Ltutz, 2.00; P.S.E.Railway, 6.66; F.F.Greeme, 6.00. Total, 0435.31. Unfinished Business: Ordinances Nos. 34 and 35 were placed on their first reading; by motion regularly made, seconded and carried, Ah! emergency was declared to exist, and these two Ordinances were unanimously adopted, •signed in open session and ordered published in the usual manner. In reference to the short street between first and second avenues Mr.. Jensen proposed the name of "Mill Street and upon motion being made the Name "Mill Street" was adopted by the Council. The Street Supetintendent was ordered to take proper care of Scrapers and other tools belonging to the Town. In accordance with the authority vested in the Mayor by Ordi- nance Eo. 34, Mr. John 0. gold was appointed Poundmaster, which appointment was immediately ratified. Inasmuch as Lars. Lutz made no charge for the use of the Hall for the- purpose of holding mass meeting in re recommending the 4ppointee for School Director, a vote of thanks was'tenedred her. Mr. Engel stated that work to the amount of about $50.00 should be done on Main Street between Wyatt Hill and Highlan Drive. D.F.Williams, Marshal, appointed @.E.Lutz and the Poundmaster as deputy Yarshals. In re the repairs to sidewalk between First and Second Avenues. It was decided that some old plank in the possession of the St.Supt. should be donated for this purpose. The St. Supt. was ordered to cut the Can.Thistles on Nilson place. Lotion made and carried that St.Supt. proceed with thistles and noxious weeds according to..,-State Laws. No further business appearing, meeting was adjourned at 9;45. E.F.Greene, Clerk.
