The regular meeting of the To.vn Council was held on the above
date, being Culled to order by the IMayor at the hour of 8:20

Mnr. `ferry reported that to Imp rove First-Avenue in accord-
ance with the_retition recently filed wi the Council ;would re-
quire 1000 Yds. of dirt and Egould cost from 9 to X1,200&.
No defini conclusion was arrived at. Ile also .reported that
sidewalks ,acre in good condition_.

Town papers had been .built and delivered, inspected and accepted.
The Committee appointed to wait upon fir. Blankenship in re
vacation of Maule Avenue reported that he advised them when the
To.m of 'Tukwila, got ready to improve and use said Street he
would vacate, and not until that tine.
The matter of a statement from ireaiurer for
9-1.31, t :;e t3 on 3 1 o_f Lot 15, Block 17, ;which was deeded to the
io;wn for Street purposes was discussed, and it was decided to
pay these tastes and the Clerk was instructed to take up the mat-
ter up with the proper persons in order that the Town r_sight be
spared the e .�q)ense of taxers on this property in the future.

she following communications were read and ordered on File:
A letter from the State Board of Health, stating that it is
obligatory on every incorporated Tovn to appoint iealth Officer;
a regular Physician if or_ ^csides ;within the Tov�n, and if not,
some competent person to report vital statistics. There being
no Physician residing within the limits of Tukwila, the Mayor
appointed 14rs. Groomes and this appointment was iimiediately
confirmed by the Council. A communication in the form of a report
from the Mayor was read, ;which thoroughly explained the status
of the Disincorporation question, was accepted and ordered oil
file.
The matter of the drainig of the low land in the forth por-
tion was 'wrought up and i:1r.. Lewis, Superintendent of Streets
reported that it was entirely up to the Railroad Company and
outside the Town's jurisdiction, and suggested that it be tabled.

Gentlemen of the Council:
In connection with the matter of the attempt to
disincorporate this Town, I wish to make the following report.
In pursuance of the Resolution presented to and
adopted by the Council at its 1 -ast regular ideeting, and by
virtue of the authbrity in me vested by the terms of said
Resolution, I took up with Mr. Jas. A. Snoddy, the Attorney
who has been looking after our interests in this cor_troversey,
the matter of his Retainer Fee. He stated that he considered
050.00 a reasonable amount for such purpose, and, after looking
into the matter thoroughly and considering the amount of his
time that would probably be required, I concurred and accord-
ingly paid him $50.00 as a Retainer Fee, by v,arrant dram in
accordance with the above :mentioned Resolution.

New Business:
Mr. 1 2'ngel submitted a resolution covering Street Im-
provements -along the lines recom'.0ended by the Committee
and carrying appropriations amounting to -10 This
resolution is attached hereto and forms a part of these minutes
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried the above mentioned
resolution was adopted.
Upon motion made and regularly carried, the whole Council
was made a, Committee an Streets and Alleys.
After some discussion an ar=rangement was reached with
Mr. Stauffer, whereby the 1own will receive a strip of land
along Clarence Avenue about 105 Ft. x 20 Ft. for -20.00
Mr. Stauffer to move the fence and give deed. This arrangement
was inrnediately ratified and -20.00 appropriated for the purpose
by a unanimous vote of the Council.
The Clerk was instructed to have inserted in the Seattle
Daily papers an article informing the public as to Tukwila's
financial standing, and rectifying some mistaken ideas as to
the Town's solvency.
The Committee appointed by the Mass meeting to get informa-
tion regarding the sidetrack reported through 1r. Stein and' ,he
'reports that he has .taken the matter up.- with- the Publid' Service:
Commission. Ise also reported on the matter of the Electric
Light question, which report was accepted and ordered on file.
A suggestion of Mr. Stauffer's was referred to Committee
on Streets and Alleys.
Street Superintendent asked for leave of absence from
the 1£311 to the 22nd of this month; granted.
A discussion arose as to the wages to be paid for teams
on the contemplated Street Improvements. sir. Manster was
applied to, and he :Mated that he would furnish a team and
dump wagon for -6.00 per day. Motion was made and carried
that the wages for teams be fixed at W6.00.
141r. Lewis suggested that a comprehensive plan for this
contemplated Street Improvement be prepared, stating that if a
good working plan be adopted and followed, it was his opinion
the work embraced in the resolution submitted by Mr. Engle
could be completed for 800.00.
Mr. Williams requested a new Light Superintendent be appointed
and Mr. Lewis was appointed for that position.
'rlx. Lei =iis stated that the `sidewalk up, the hill back of
the 'Wyatt property was in a dangerous condition and should
be repaired. Street Committee ordered to take the matter up at
once; also ;sidewalks throughout the loan to be closely inspected.
Mr. Lewis also :Mated that he would require some new tools;
such as shovels, picks, etc., and also some powder for blastiig
out stumps. He was authorized to purchase the powder and
necessary tools, by'motion duly seconded and carried.
No further business appearing, meeting adjourned at
10:00 P.M.
