F:espectfully submitted, Town Clerk. 3 Tukwila, Washington, February 28, 1913. A Special Meeting of the Totimn Council was held at Lutz' Hall on the above date. There were present: J. 1. Hall, mayor H. Td. Engel, E. N. Sandahl, E. E. Lutz, atdh D. F. Williams, Councilmen. Meeting was called to order at the hour of 8:20 P.M., by the Mayor, who stated that the special meeting had been called for the pur- pose of taking action on the petition for disincorporation of the Town of Tukwila. The report of the Clerk on said Petition was called for and read, as follows: "To the May and Members of the Town Council, Tukwila, Washington. Gentlemen: I Hh ?MY CF•RTIFY That I have checked up the Petition for Disincorporation of the Town of Tukwila, and find as follows: That there were One Hundred and Forty -nine (149) legally registered voters at the date of the last General Election* find that there are Seventy-nine 79) ames upon the said Peti tion for Disincorporation, Twelve 12) of which do not appear upon the Registration Books of the 'down as having been signed thereon since the First of January, 1913, and one of the names appearing thereon was not signed by the person purporting to have signed the same, 1 furthermore find that it is impossible to determine from this Petition whether the remaining Sixty -six names appearing upon the said Petition were signed thereon before or after the date upon which they were signed to the Registration Books. Respectfully Submitted.- E.F.Greene, Town Clerk," The following Resolution was thereupon submitted: "iHEREAS, there-was presented to the Council on the 11th day of February, 1913, a petition asking that a special election be called in the Town of Tukwila, at which the electors may vote upon the question of the Disincorporation of said Town and for the election of a receiver in case of dissolution, and "WHEREAS, said petition has been duly examined by anah under the direction of the Council with a view to determine its legality and sufficiency, and "MMREAS, it has been ascertained by the Council that said peti- tion is not legally sufficient to authorize or requirethe Council to call a special or election to submit said question and has not a sufficientZgpwli.fied signers thereto, "THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Tukwila, that said petition not being legally sufficient to authorize or require a special election for the submission of such question that no election be called, and that said question be not submitted" motion wao made and seconded that the above resolution be adopted. Carried by a three fourths majority. The Opinion of a reportable Attorney at Law upon the question was presented and read, and appears upon Page 51 of this minute book.
