The Regular P.ieeting of the Town Council was held on the above date, hE>ving been postponed from the 10th,-on account of election. There were present: Jacob Guntert, Mayor. Eugene Lutz, D.A.Williams, Eugene .Sandahl and 0.A.Santhuff, Councilmen: Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Reports of Committees;, Finance. No Report. Fire, Water Light. Light. 1`r. Williams stated that in pursuance of a call for a I£ass 7Wseeting issued at the last regular meeting of the Council, such a meeting was held, and that at said meeting it was decided to take up a popular subscription for the pu; ^pose of installing some kind of light; several plans of lighting were discussed, and while Electricity was decided to be the best, yet in view of the cost of installing such a system, it was thought beat to instal a, few Gasoline Street Lamps, an a temporary solution of the matter. Laws and Ordinances: '11r. 'irilliams stated that Ordinance TYo. 31 had been re- drafted, but upon reading the re- draft it was found to be defective, and the Committee we'ee gi one month more time it which to perfect it. The following bills were read, approved, and ordered drawn in their payment: Mrs. Caroline Lutz, 2.00; ]..F.Greene, 5.00; I..!'r'eidermann, 5.00; ^ota1 ''12.00 A comrinunicat:ion from the County T reasurer was read, stating that he had been notified by the County Auditor that his office had issued .7'.xpense 77arrant against the Tows_ of ^u ivi,la, for SY.11.75, a/c Auditing Town Books. Upon motion regularly made, seconded -and carried, this amount +..vas ordered to be paid by warrant drawn in regular manner 41.7 5 making a total of warrants ordered to be issued of 53.75 The matt -e.r of the unsightly appearance of Maule Avenue was .brought up, and it ;vasa definitely settled that the Council sho?zld meet, :.next Sunday, Sept. 15th, at 1 P.11. for the purpo'Be of clearing this St°beet. The Town Treasurer reported that there was in the `i'ovM. Treasury exclusive of the 1]mert eney Fund, x$100.00. -1- The matter of the i.,nnrovp.ment of the Str near 1 Sanda.hl's place, and Clarence .Avenue for the benefit of traffic to and from the 'au).,tvila. School House carne; up for discussion. On a former occasion the Council had a.ppronriated the sum of $?100.00 for the improvement of Clarence tivenue, and not to exceed V50.00 for the improvement of the road near 11r. Sa,ndahl's plra.ce but nothing had been done on account of the small amount of money in the T reasur y. A motion made xPai that the Street Committee be instruc ted to go ahead with these improvementz to -the extent of the money on hand. It was then moved and seconded that the matter be laid over until. the October fleeting. Carried. It was recommended th=at, the �a.rsha,l be instructed to clean off all rrp: sin €;s and repair w ashed-out places on steep grades after each heavy storm, and to place a New Culvert on Riverside .Avenue near Mr. Mia.cDona.ld's place. It zras moved and carried that the Street Committee investigate these matters and instruct the LLirsha,l to make such repairs as are necessary. The above also applies to a Culvert being needed near Mr. Rogers' place. The matter of the Annual Budget for 19121913 came up for dis- cussion, and the Mayor stated that a Special Meeting for this purpose would be hold on the First Monday in October the 7 There being no further business to transact, a. motion to adjourn carried at 9 P.M.
