The Regular Iieeting of the Town Council was.held at Lutz Hall
on the above date, being called to order by the 'Mayor at the
hour of 8:15 P.M.
There were Present:
Jacob Guntert, Mayor
E. F. Doty,
Eugene Lutz,
D. A. Williams and
0: A. Santhuff, Councilmen:
Minutes of the last meeting were read, and corrected to
include the following: "The people present were invited to
assist in preparing Ordinance No. 31."
Re orts of Committees: Finance. No Report
Fire, Light and Tater. Mr. Williams,
reporting on the matter of lighting the Town, stated that it
seemed to be the general desire to have the Town lighted by
Electricity, He st-ated that current could be obtained from the
Snoqualmic line of the City of Seattle s plant and quoted some
figures regarding costs, etc., but no action was taken.

The Fol Fills were read and afterapprova.l warrants were

1.50; Mrs..Ca,roline Lutz, 2.00, a'nd laying over until the
next meeting the bill of O.Told for Pound Rent, and the Bill of
}.�r.'Mazourik for damages against Mr. Smith, account of stock.
A discussion arose as to the liability of the Toi ir_ connec-
tion with the above bill for damages, and it Elms- finally decided
that the council should take legal advice in that connection, as
well as in connection with the validity of Ordinance No. 31, and
report at the next meeting
Unfinished Business: sir. Doty asked for the report of Mli.
Stewart in re Clarence Avenue. No report.
New Business: ia;r. Lutz moved that a Comm -ittee of three be
ap;_:ointed by the Mayor to take charge of Election matters;
carried, and the Mayor appointed Messrs. Doty, Williams and Lutz.
?r. Lutz made a. motion to the effect that the Town is satisfied
with the bond of the clerk as Notary Public, and that it is not
necessary to incur the expense.of executing any further bond to
the Town for the balance of his term. Carried.
Under the head of Neva Business the matter of Electric Light for
the town was again brought up, and after a general discussion
of wide scope, covering the advisability of a bond issue to se-
cure a lighting system, etc., a Mass u�eeting was decided upon as
the best means of getting a full expression from all interested,
and Messrs. Weil -1 ia.ms, Lutz and Santhuff were appointed by the
Mayor to call such meeting to'be held on Tuesday evening, August
27th at a place to be named.
Ljr. Lutz called attention to the fact that Maule Avenue has
grown up to weeds and brush and presented an unsightly appearance
and after some discussion it was decided that the Council as a.
committee of the whole meet, and become collectively responsible
for the cleaning up of said Street.
No further business aprearirg, meeting adjourned at the
hour of 9:
