HomeMy WebLinkAbout1912-02-17 Regular MinutesTukwila, Washington February 17,19712 The Regualr Meeting was held at Lutz Hall on the above date. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Gunthert at 8 PM. There were present: Jacob Gunthert Mayor Sandahl Lutz Williams Doty Councilmembers The minutes were read and approved. Report of Committees Mr. Lutz reported that he had tried to see Mr. groman in regards to the broken flow beam but had failed to see him. He asked Mr. Wiederman to accompany him and state the facts as he saw it and try to seetle the matter up. Bills and Correspondence The following bills were presented for payment: Caroline Lutz $4.00 Hall rent Frank McDondly $5.00 Marshall for January Total $9.00 Correspondence a letter from Mrs. Caroline Lutz asking the Council to investigate any possible Chambers December 28th. These bills were OK by the Finance Committee and it was moved and seconded. That warrants be drawn and bills be paid. Carried. John O. Wold sent in a petition asking the Council to build a public clock at the foot of First Avenue and ask Mr. Heine to vacate half of the street frontage for said landing which he is now occupying. was moved and seconded that taking Street Committee investigate the matter of Mr. Heine occupying First Avenue and of building a landing and report at next Regular Meeting. Carried. The Clerk was instructed to write to the State Engineers asking them if Mr. Heine had any legal right to occupy the street. Moved and seconded that Marshall be instructed to investigate and if possible settle for the Carried. The resignation of Mr. Lutz's was appointed was handed in but owing to the fact taht he had not taken the Oath of Office . No action was taken in the matter. Moved and seconded that the Bill from Mr. Macentire be rejected. Carried. Motion made and see that the Chairman of Street Committee instruct Road Foreman to get powder and blow out stumps on Riverside Avenue north from Tukwila Avenue and Mcdonalds and spend the necessary amount in doing same. Correct. Moved and seconded Street Committee be instructed to draw up an ordinance asking Mr. Stafford to vacate a strip 20x145 feet and on Claerence Avenue exchange for a Moved and seconded Clerk keep a record of money spent on each street and job. Carried. The speed ordinance was read and it was moved and seconded that Clerk draw up a copy of street ordinance and mail a copy to PSE by registered mail. Carried. The matter of stopping trains and arresting crew for violating the law was voted to be laid over in next Regular Meeting. Carried. The matter of getting bonds for the Town Officers was brought up and thoroughly discussed. The Council and all who spoke on the matter in Town of putting Instead of private bonds, it was moved and seconded the Town appropriate $15.00 for bonds. Carried. Moved and the matter of getting be layed over until such time as all affecting property owners sign a petition and to the Council. Carried. There was a discussion as to how ws the best way and cheapest to move dirt and grade streets this season. The Street Committee was instructed to get prices on and implement moving dirt and present to next meeting. As there was no more Business to come before the meeting adjournment was taken at 9:45 PM.
