Project Manager City of Tukwila Public Works Tukwila, WA 98188 Re: 2003 Overlay Program Project No. 03 -RWO1 Recommendation for Contract Award Dear Robin: KPG, Inc has reviewed the projects and references submitted by Lakeside Industries for the referenced project. All references checked indicated that Lakeside Industries has done a good job on roadway overlay and repair projects. We are therefore recommending that the City award Project No 03 -RW01 entitled 2003 Overlay Program to Lakeside Industries. Please call me at (206) 267 -1063 if you should have any questions or require further information. Sincerely yours, Matt Th'mas, EIT Project Engineer Committee chair approval Transportation Committee May 27, 2003 Present: Richard Simpson, Chair; Dave Fenton, Pam Linder Jim Morrow, Brian Shelton, Lucy Lauterbach; Dennis Robertson 1. 2003 Overlay Bid Award Six projects are being contemplated for overlays: 42n (154` 160 Baker Blvd (Andover W Christensen); TIB (Bridge to Boeing Access Road); S. 153` (65` -dead end); 40` Ave. S. (S. 133` 139` and 51 Ave. (139` dead end). Lakeside Industries was the low bidder. Because bids were Iower than anticipated, some of the leftover budget may be used on Tukwila International Boulevard Phase I, which is short some $600,000. The committee agreed with this tactic. They appreciated the map showing where all these projects are. Recommend bid award at a Regular Meeting to Lakeside Industries for ;5798.559.75. 2. Tukwila International Boulevard Phase II funding PSRC "found" some money earlier, and it has now been decided how to allocate it. The four counties will share the $12 million, with the DOT for King County getting $3 million. The Public Works Directors were successful in arguing the funds should go to those projects that had advance construction authority for projects that were approved but for which no funding had been available. $1.8 in will go for Pacific Highway in three cities: Des Moines, Federal Way, and Tukwila. Tukwila's share will be $600,000. Sea Tac didn't want federal funds, so their portion will come from State funding. PSRC has agreed to this distribution. Information.
