HomeMy WebLinkAbout1912-01-09 Regular MinutesTukwila, Wash January 9, 1912 The last meeting of the old Council was held at Lutz Hall on the above date. Meeting called to order by Mayor Engel at 8 PM. There were present E.W. Engel Mayor F.E. Kline John O. Wold J. Guntert and E.F. Doty Councilmembers The minutes of previous meeting was read by the Clerk. It was moved and seconded that the minutes be accepted as correct. Report of Committees Mr. Wold reported that work had been done in Reitz Avenue and Second Avenue. Mr. Guntert reported that the same Treasurer's Books were correct Bills and Correspondence The following Bills were presented for payment: put down Bill seprate These Bills were audited by Finance Committee and except R.H. Kasner's Bill for $5.00 accepted and warrants ordered drawn in their payment. Mr. Hopkins wanted the Town to accept Mr. Kassner's Bill and pay same. The Council had already in a previous meeting rejected the Bill as not been Town work. A somewhat heated argument issued , however the Council voted not to pay it. The Mayor regretted that this matter could not be sellted satisfactory. The Treasurer and clerk's annual statements were read accepted and ordered placed on file for further references. A correspondence from Mrs. Wendt, complaining over the slippery condition of the sidewalks on Main Street and petitioning for lates on walk, was iced but no action was taken on the matter. Mayor Engel resigned as Mayor of the Town of Tukwila, expressing his thanks to the Council and all Town Officials for their good service and work together. It was moved and seconded that Mr. Engel's resignation be accepted. The Town Clerk had already handed in his resignation to the Mayor and after finishing his duties and taking the new council in Oath, left his desk for the new Mayor to name his sucessor. There have been no further Business to come before the Council, a "sine die" adjournment was taken at 9 PM. C.P. Jensen, Clerk Mr. Ives.
