HomeMy WebLinkAbout1911-10-10 Regular MinutesTukwila, Washington October 10, 1911 The Regular Meeting of the Council of Tukwila was held in Lutz Hall on the above date. Meeting called to order by the Mayor at the hour of 8:10 PM. Present: E.W. Engel Mayor John O. Wold Jacob Gunthert M.H. Miller Eugene Sandahl Councilmembers The first in order was the reading of the minutes from previous meeting, which were accepted by the Council as correct. Report of Committees Mr. Wold reported that the work on Marin Street had been done. The ditch had been filled in Reitz Avenue. The work on Clarence Avenue was also finished. He also reported that Mr. McIntyre had done good work on his hill, but he could not see we could pay a Bill for work not appropriated for the Chair wanted to have a definite report whether we should pay or reject the Bill. Mr. Wold recommended that the Bill be rejected. Laws Ordinances Ordinance 29 and 30 were presented to the Council. A motion to adopt the ordinances and declare them emergency cases was carried. Report of Committee on Town Property Mr. Wold reported that he together on the Street Foreman had purchased a road plow and two. scrapers of the Polson Bills and Correspondence The following Bills were presented for payment: Greene $1.25 Polson Impl Company $65.00 C.P. Jensen $5.00 Fred callernius $5.00 Naster and Parker $314.00 F. McDonald $6.90 John Johnson $24.00 John $12.00 R. Pinkert $18.25 O.E. Lantuff $15.00 Fred callernius $2.40 J. Vieley $150.00 H. Wiederman $55.25 S. Myers $2.75 F. Williams $4.00 Caroline Lutz $2.00 W. $10.05 H.W. Kingsley $13.75 Total $717.70 These Bills were examined and approved by Auditors Committee. A motion to draw warrants in their payment was duly carried. The Surveyor Bill laid over from last meeting was subject of some discussion. The Mayor stated that he had talked to first class authority on the matter who had informed him that the job done should be considered very reasonable. As above stated, the Bill was ordered paid. A correspondence from County Assessor read giving the assessed valuation real and personal of the Town of Tukwila to be $103,880. Treasurer's quarterly statement was presented and approved as correct. Ordinance 28 passed its 3rd reading. The ordinance was adopted and ordered posting. Mr. Gunthert again brought up the matter of opening up the south end pointing out the great benefit it would be for the Town. The Council agreed with Mr. Gunthert on its merit, but could do nothign until we had a clean out right-of-way. The matter was referred to Committee on Ways and Means to investigate how right-of-way could be secured. Mr. Miller handed in his resignation as Councilmember, his reason for resigning was his going away. The Council expressed their regret to Mr. Miller leave, but under the circumstances mentioned to accept his resignation. The motion was carried. The question of Mr. Miller's successor was in order. Mr. Doty was named and duly elected to fill in unexpired term of Mr. Miller. Mr. doty was not present the Clerk was instructed to notify him. The Town had secured right to the old planks from Riverton Junction Bridge. The matter of getting them and placing them were needed was given control of to Mr. Wiederman. He was also instructed to clean crossings during wet season. There being no further Business of importance to come before the meeting an adjournment was taken at 10:15 PM. C.P. Jensen Town Clerk
