HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923-11-08 Regular MinutesTukwila, Wash., November 8, 1923 The regular monthly meeting of the Ciunoil of the Town of Tukwila was called to odder by the Mayor on the above date at 8:10 P. There were present Mayor E.P. Greene, Councilmen H.E. Ives, W.F. Engel, F.J. Klein and M.L. Holmes. Councilman C.G. Sanders being absent. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the clerk and approved as read. BILLS The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being approved by the Finance Committee, it was moved,seconded and carried that they be paid and warrants drawn for their respective amounts: CURRENT EXPENSE FUND H.A. Schnoor Tukwila 5 00 Joseph Ton It 20 00 Kenneth Hall 20 00 A.E. Hull if 21 40 F.C. Stamp Works Seattle 3 50 E.E. Lutz Tukwila 10 00 Puget Sound Power Light Co. Seattle 33 15 TOTAL 113 05 COMMUNICATIONS The Town Treasurers monthly report was read by the clerk and ordered placed on file. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES Streets and Sidewalks Councilman Engel The various culverts and crossings have all been r *paired and installed and this practically completes the necessary street work for this winter with the exception of a small amount of brush on Summit Avenue to be removed and addi- tional cinders on Riverside Avenue. FINISHED BUSINESS After a short discussion, it was moved axed seconded thait the necessary brush be removed from Summit Avenue. Motion carried. It was also moved and seconded that a load of cinders be put on Riverside Avenue just north of Tukwila Avenue. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Mr. R.E. Koon of Portland, Oregon who had been engaged by the Council for a survey of the water situation was prevent and the Mayor tendered him the floor for a few remarks regarding the outlook for a water system for the town. After a very interesting talk the meeting was open for general discussion between the various members of the Council and the citizens present, after which it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Council accept Mr. Koon's proposal and that the Mayor and Clerk be instructed to draw up a suitable contract.
