The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor on the above date at 8 :20 P.M. There were present Mayor E.F. Greene, Councilmen H.E. Ives, W.F. Engel, F.J. Klein, C.G. Sanders and M.L. Holmes. Minutes of the last meeting were read by the Clerk and approved as read. BILLS The following bills were read by the Clerk and after bein approved by the Finance Committee, it was moved, seconded and carri that they be paid and warrants drawn for their respective amounts: CURRENT EXPENSE FUND Kenneth Hall Tukwila 6 00 Joseph Ton 29 00 F. Frost 13 00 A.E. Hull 2 65 See Sons Renton 9 33 Trick Murray Seattle 13 00 E.E. Lutz Tukwila 10 00 Puget Sound Power Light Co. Seattle 15 TOTAL 116 13 COMMUNICATIONS The Town Treasurers Report was read by the Clerk and ordered placed on file. PORTS OF COMMITTEES None NEW BUSINESS Councilman Sanders stated that inasmuch as he expected to be out of town for some time, he therefore begged to tender his resignation as Councilman. Moved and seconded that the resignation be accepted. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed Mr. J.A. Wickman as Councilman to fill the unexpired term of Mr Sanders. Moved and seconded that the appointment be ratified by the Council. Motion Carried. The Mayor made a brief report on the progress made by the engineers on the waters proposition and stated that they had not mad a complete report as yet but expected to in the near future. Councilman Sanders made a very complete report on the work of the School Directors for the past several months. Discussion was brought up regarding the placing of a side. walk on Bluff Street, after which it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Town purchase sufficient planks,2 x 12, that they may be laid three wide from the present walk at Mr Mead's gate to the corner near Mr. Steigler's property. It was also regularly moved, seconded and carried that permission be granted by the Town Council to Messrs. Walkup and Steigler to build a sidewalk on Bluff Street, under the faoe of the hill back of Mr. Mead's house, con- sisting of 2x12 planks laid lengthwise of the street, three wide, at their own proper cost and expense, and for which the Town assume; no responsibility. It was reported that the drain or culvert under the fill opposite Mr, McDonald's place had caved in and was in dangerous condition, also that the wooden culvert at the corner of Riverside and Clarence Avenues had been crushed and fallen in, iioved, seconded and carried that the Street Superintendent be instructed to put a force of men at work immediately removing these culverts and that a sufficient amount of 8" and 12" drain tile be purchased to replace the above and be installed at once. Moved, seconded and carried that the Street Superintendent be authorized to,=employ a man and team with the necessary additional help for one day to place crushed rook from the bluff on the Pacific Highway on Riverside Avenue from its intersection with Tukwila Avenue to the North property line of Mr. Frederickson's place. 9 :55 P.
