HomeMy WebLinkAbout1917-10-02 Adjourned MinutesTukwila Washington October 2, 1917 The adjourned meeting for hearing protests to the published estimated Budget of 1918, and to fix the Tax Levy was called to order at 8:20 PM Tuesay October 2nd by Mayor Stevens. The following Councilmembers responded to the roll call. Councilmembers Wallenberg, Erickson, Kassner and Klein. A communication was read from the County Assessor stating the assessed valuation of all the property situated within the boundary of the Town of Tukwila amounted to $154,641. The communication was ordered placed on file. A communication from Town Clerk Joseph Hozack stating the estimated Budget for the year 1918. councilmember Kassner seconded by Councilmember Erickson moved that the Tax Levy be 10 mills for the ensuing year. Motion carried. Ordinance 68 Giving to the reduction in taxes the council reduced the Street Fund in the Budget by $54.00. Motion was made by Councilmember Klein seconded by Councilmember Wallenberg that the Budget be read by the Clerk and be accepted. Upon roll call: Wallenberg yes Erickson yes Kassner yes Klein yes Following is the Budget for 1918. a. Operating and Maintenance Expenditures Treasurer $50.00 Clerk $60.00 Marshall $30.00 Street Lighting $255.00 Hall Rent $30.00 Election and Registration $30.00 Health Department $25.00 Stationary and Postage $15.00 State Bureau of Inspection and Supervising Public Officers $20.00 Interest in $600.00 at 7% $28.00 Total $543.00 b. capital and Betterment Outlays To be expended for permanent improvement in road work $403.00 c. Redemption of Debt $600.00 Total $1,546.00 Ordianance 68 An ordiannce providing for the Tax Levy of 10 mills was read by the clerk. On motion of Councilmember Erickson seconded by Councilmember Wallenberg the ordinance was placed in its final passage and passed.
