adjacent to the Fire District #1 annexation proposal.
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY MORIWAKI, THAT THE CONSENT AGENDA BE

City Attorney Hard explained the Model Interlocal Agreement. In his
opinion there may be restrictions on recycling, but it would not
prevent the City recycling paper and aluminum if they wished to.
All cities except Bellevue and Tukwila have signed the model agreement.
The County does not agree with some of the language so there will be
more discussion between the County and the cities involved. There
will be a revised draft. It is past the due date but Planning
Director Beeler has recommended that it is not too late to sign. The
City will be signing with the knowledge that the document will be
revised and brought back again. He informed the Council they can
sign the document now knowing they have missed the deadline and wait
for a final version. The signing will be a symbolic gesture showing
good faith. The Council can also inform Suburban Cities that they
do not wish to sign now and will wait for the final document. Mr.
Beeler has recommended the City sign this version and wait for the
final draft.
MOVED BY ROBERTSON, SECONDED BY STOKNES, THAT COUNCIL AUTHORIZE
