State Sales Tax.. interior P48(0 1 of 1 .0 (SHORT FORM) SPECIFICATIONS FOR STAR SR -LO RIGID FRAME BUILDINGS 14.1 GENERAL 14.1.1 Building shall be clear span gabled Rigid Frame type construction. Rigid Frames shall be designed with tapered column and rafter of shop welded steel plate. Precision formed secondary framing hall be covered with precision rolled colored or galvanized wall and /or roof panels. 14.1.2 Building WIDTH shall be from outside of sidewall framing. LENGTH shall be from outside of endwall framing. 14.1.3 ROOF SLOPE shall be 1 -inch rise on 12 -inch run. 14.1.4 Building components and parts shall consist of columns rafters, purlins, girts, struts connectors, base angles, bracing, covering, windows, doors, sky- lights, flashing, and miscellaneous items shown on the drawings necessary for a weathertight building. All material shall be new and free from defects. 14.1.4.1 All components,parts, and accessories will be clearly shown on erection drawings furnished by the building manufacturer for the identification of parts and assembly of the building. 14.1.4.2 All drawing will bear the seal of a registered professional engineer. Complete design analysis of all structural components shall be on file and furnished by the building manufacturer upon request. 14.1.5 Foundations shall be designed by a qualified local engineer to satisfy all applicable design loads and job site soil conditions. 14.1.6 Anchor bolts shall be not less than those shown on building manufacturer's 1 drawings. Anchor bolts and concrete reinforcing are to be furnished by concrete contractor. 14.1.7 There shall be no field modification of primary structural members, except as authorized and specified on the manufacturer's drawings. 14.1.6 Erection shall be performed in accordance with the erection drawings by a qualified erector using proper tools and equipment. 14.2 STRUCTURAL STEEL DESIGN 14.2.1 Building components, primary and /or secondary, shall be designed in accordance with the current edition of AISC or AISI specifications, whichever is applicable. 14.2.2 Building components shall be designed for the most severe condition produced by combining contributing dead load plus specified live load 9istributed on horizontal projection of the roof; or by combining dead load plus specified wind load distributed in accordance with the U. S. Navy Bureau of Yards and Docks publication, "Navdock DM -2." 14.2.3 Roof (snow) live load specificed shall be one of the following: 14.2.3.1 Series 3 specifies 12 PSF roof live load. 14.2.3.2 Series 6 specifies 20 PSF roof live load. 14.2.3.3 Series 9 specifies 30 PSF roof live load. 14.2.3.4 Other as noted -13- Sheet 2 of 5 3 14.0 (SHORT FORM) SPh;�FICA't'IONS FOR STAR SR -LO RIGIDitAME BUILDINGS (cont'd) 14.2.4 Wind load specified shall be one of the following: y 14.2.4.1 Type (1) specifies 15 PSF wind load. 14.2.4.2 Type (2) specifies 20 PSF wind load. 14.2.4.3 Type (3) specifies 25 PSF wind load. 14.2.4.4 Other as noted. 14.3 STRUCTURAL STEEL FABRICATION 14.3.1 All structural steel members are to be sheared, formed, punched, welded, and painted in the plant of the manufacturer. Welding shall be in accordance with standard practices of the American Welding Society, performed by qualified welders. Holes and clips required for primary and secondary connections shall be provided in the plant of the manufacturer. t 14.4 PRIMARY FRAMING 14.4.1 Rigid Frames shall consist of tapered welded plate section columns and rafter complete with necessary splices for field bolted assembly. 1:4.4.2 Primary building frame splice connections shall be field bolted utilizing high strength �.Glt�. 14.4.3 Endwall frames shall be precision cold formed structural members consist- ing of uniform depth rafter and columns fabricated for field bolted assembly. 3 14.5 SECONDARY FRAMING 14.5.1 Purlins and girts shall be 8 x 3" Z- section precision roll formed from 16- gauge, 14- gauge, or 12 -gauge steel having a minimum yield strength of 50 psi; and shall be simple or continuous span as required by design and noted on the manufacturer's drawings. 14.5.2 Eave struts shall be 7 1/4" x 4 C- sections precision cold formed from 14 -gauge or 12 -gauge steel having a rid nimum yield strength of 50,000 psi. Roof struts, where required and shown on the drawings, shall consist of a roof purlin and an equal section connected by diaphragms. 14.5.3 All connections shall have a minimum of two 1/2 diameter bolts. 14.6 WIND BRACING 14.6.1 Wind bracing shall be as shown on the drawings and shall consist of diagonal rod bracing and /or diaphragm action of roof panels and wall panels. f 14.7 COVERING 14.7.1 Roof and wall shall be covered with Star -Rib panels of 26 -gauge galvan- ized steel, or 26 -gauge galvanized steel with factory applied vinyl color. r� 14.8 SHOP PAINT 14.8.1 All structural steel components shall be cleaned of oil, dirt, loose scale, and foreign matter, and painted one shop coat of red oxide primer.
