Councilman Traynor called the Budget Hearing to order in the
meeting room at Fire Station #2.
It was stated that a Gambling Budget is required by law.

BUDGET HEARING
Council reviewed the budget by line item and discussed how the
totals were arrived at. The $55,000 budgeted for City insurance
coverage was discussed but it was determined that little could
be done about this item.
Council questioned how the fees for Intergovernmental Services
were computed. Each organization sends a letter of request to
the City for review and renewal or approval.
MOVED BY SAUL, SECONDED BY MRS. PESICKA, THAT COUNCIL ACCEPT THE
NON- DEPARTMENTAL /MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES. MOTION CARRIED.
Council discussed the Police /Administration request.
MOVED BY SAUL, SECONDED BY MRS. PESICKA, THAT PAGE 66 BE ACCEPTED
AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED.
The request for two additional cameras was discussed. It was
noted that one was approved by the Mayor in the amount of $750.
Discussion followed on the type of camera for the amount of
money requested.
MOVED BY MRS. PESICKA, SECONDED BY SAUL, THAT COUNCIL APPROVE
THE POLICE /INVESTIGATION BUDGET. MOTION CARRIED.
Discussion was held on the use of protective vests and how
many officers actually wear them. Also, there was considerable
discussion on hand guns the 38 vs the 45. It was decided to
discuss this again under capital equipment.

76 AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY SAUL, SECONDED BY MRS. PESICKA, THAT COUNCIL ACCEPT PAGE
82. MOTION CARRIED.
This budget covers Mr. Pat Lowry, Crime Prevention Program
Director, under a L.E.A.A. Grant.
MOVED BY BOHRER, SECONDED BY MRS. PESICKA, THAT COUNCIL ACCEPT
PAGE 85. MOTION CARRIED.
It was noted that there are two Patrolmen included in this
Budget. Budget total $48,367. Total Police Department Budget
request $746,945.
MOVED BY MRS. PESICKA, SECONDED BY SAUL, THAT POLICE /TRAFFIC BE
ACCEPTED AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED.
There being not further disc ussion on the Police Department Budget
the meeting adjourned.
