RE: Director of Parks and Recreation Appointment

I am pleased to announce that Rick Still has been selected as Director of Parks and Recreation for the
City of Tukwila. Rick's appointment will be taken before the City Council on June 21, 2010 for
confirmation. Rick has been Interim Parks and Recreation Director since January of this year, and will be
filling the position vacated by Bruce Fletcher.
Rick has over 20 years of experience in the parks and recreation field. Before coming to Tukwila he
served as Parks Superintendent for the City of Des Moines. He came to Tukwila in June of 2000 as
Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation and has served his Department and this community with real
dedication and enthusiasm for the past ten years. Rick is also active in statewide park and recreation
issues, and recently served on the Board of Directors of the Washington Recreation and Park
Association.
Rick has been a valuable asset within the Parks and Recreation Department and a valued member of the
City's management team. I request that you confirm his appointment as Director of Parks and
Recreation, and join me in congratulating him on his well- deserved promotion.
