PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Tukwila Employees Safety and Health Committee, TESHCOM, was
established to provide a mechanism to evaluate workplace accidents, practices, resources
and issues; to make recommendations which promote and maintain a safe and healthy
working environment for Tukwila City employees; and to protect the public's resources
and reduce the City's exposure to risk and loss; and
WHEREAS, TESHCOM Committee members voluntarily serve as representatives
from their work groups to ensure that all employees have a safe and healthy workplace;
and
WHEREAS, the time dedicated by TESHCOM Committee members ensures that
employees have a voice in promoting safety in the City; and
WHEREAS, the National Safety Council established June as National Safety Month to
increase awareness of safety and health risks and ultimately decrease the number of
accidental injuries and deaths;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Haggerton, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby
proclaim and recognize June as National Safety Month and give thanks and recognition
to the 2010 TESHCOM Committee members for their service to the City and the employee
groups they represent:

Suzi Sacha, Committee Vice Chair, Police Department
Erika Eddins, Human Resources Department
Kim Gilman, Human Resources Department
Marty Grisham, Fire Department
Darren Hawkins, Parks Recreation Department Community Center
