Footing drain and downspouts may share a single discharge pipe downstream of the lowest footing drain. 30: Driveways shall comply with City residential standards. Driveway width shall be a 10' minimum and 20' maximum. Slope shall be a maximum of 15 %. Turning radii shall be a minimum of 5'. 31: The driveway shall be constructed and sloped in a way, as to prevent on -site ponding of storm water runoff. Five test holes were dug with .testing being performed in three holes prepared in accordance with the EPA test procedure. Each hole was soaked by filling the holes to near the top and maintaining water in the holes for over 24 hours by periodically refilling the holes. The two test holes which extended to the underlying sands when filled completely drained in under 30 minutes. The soaking period was started approximately 11:00 am on Tuesday 1 October 2002. During the soaking period it was noted that the upper soil layer has a significantly lower infiltration rate than the sands below. The upper 2 feet to 3.5 feet is a compacted sandy loam with low infiltration rate. Under this. is a medium coarse sand that is excessively drained and very high infiltration rate. Based on discussions with employees of Blakely Bros. Construction doing the sewer construction the sands extend to a significant depth on the hillside with no indications of free water in the upper 8 feet of soil. Based on the high permeability of the sands it is very unlikely that groundwater will have any effects on the performance of the proposed infiltration trenches. Water level was checked at 10 minute intervals for 1 hour in the sand and 30 minutes for 2 hours in the compacted loam and the water level adjusted back to 6 inches deep each time. Hole 2 was filled with 12 inches of water and there was no standing water in the hole after 7 minutes 15 seconds. Hole three when filled with 7 inches of water was drained m 2 minutes 55 seconds. The tests in the sand were somewhat imprecise because the infiltration rate was so high that the water level drop would occur so rapidly that the precise time of the start of the test would have to be estimated. The infiltration trenches must be located in the sand below the compacted loam. The exact depth to the trenches will have to be determined during the construction. There is a low rubble retaining wall ; M Z' near the north property line with compacted sandy loam backfill. Beam Calculations We have provided the designer with a set of the plans and 2 copies of the structural calculations for his use in obtaining a building permit for the referenced project. The scope of this agreement covers the design phase only. If site inspections are required by the Building Department, these will be performed at an additional hourly fee of $90.00 per hour. Immediately following the receipt of that letter in the first part of March I met with Brandon Miles on two occasions to discuss the issues with that letter. On the second meeting he informed me that he would change the status in the computer so that it does not hold up this permit. In the days following he met with my superintendent, Eric Hohngren, at the site. It was then confirmed again that the issues in the letter were resolved and no additional information was needed from Olympic Development for this permit to proceed. I It has now been over two months since our application for this building permit. We have this t house sold and the buyers are anxious to get the house completed and obtain the best possible interest rates.
