Two bedrooms had been added where a deck had originally been placed. The deck was supported on concrete columns with wooden joists spanning between the columns. The deck was enclosed and roofed in to make the bedrooms. We have been asked to provide a continuous footing design to be placed under the existing bedroom addition. The footing is based on a soils bearing capacity of 2,000 psf and a concrete strength of 2,500 psi. Rebar for the footing shall be #4 (1/2 "), grade 60 steel. There were no sensitive areas, significant trees, wetlands, or slopes greater than 15% on site.
