The extinguisher(s) should be of the "all purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type. The travel distance to any extinguisher must be 75' or less. (IFC 906.3) (NFPA 10, 3 -2.1) 9: Portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved drawings. (WAC 212 -80) 22: ** *STORAGE PRACTICES * ** - IFC 23: High -piled combustible storage is combustible materials in closely packed piles more than 12 feet in height or combustible materials on pallets or in racks more than 12 feet in height. For certain special- hazard commodities such as rubber tires, plastics, some flammable liquids, idle pallets, etc., the critical pile height may be as low as 6 feet. We are installing additional pallet rack in the warehouse building at the back of 6801 South 180 Street, Tukwila, WA 98188. The rack structures to be installed are 192" high x 42" deep and will be used for loose packed wire reels and boxes of assorted metal fittings. Some wire reels are plastic but most are wood. The wire on the reels is insulated. The fittings will be in Cardboard boxes. All storage on these new racks is individual, non - palletized, non - encapsulated pieces. This rack will have wire decking throughout. The top of the tallest load would be approximately 216" high. The ceiling is approximately 293" high, (near the roof peak). The Sprinklers are facing up and are approximately 285" off the floor. j The System is rated at .395 GPM @ 5600 Square Feet and the sprinklers are rated at 165 Degrees. There is currently existing pallet rack in this space that is used for pallet load storage. This rack is also 192" high x 42" deep and was permitted in the past by us.
