No permit presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this code shall be valid. 6: ** *FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * ** 7: The attached set of plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 8: Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout. 9: Clear access to fire extinguishers is required at all times. They may not be hidden or obstructed. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.5) 10: Aisles leading to required exits shall be provided from all portions of buildings. Aisles located within an accessible route of travel shall also comply with the Building Code requirements for accessibility. (UFC 1204.1) 11: When two or more exits from a story are required, exit signs shall be installed at the required exits and where otherwise necessary to clearly indicate the direction of egress. (UBC 1003.2.8.2) 12: The color and design of lettering, arrows and other symbols on exit signs shall be in high contrast with their background. Words on the sign shall be block letters 6 inches in height with a stroke of not less than 3/4 inch. (UBC 1003.2.8.3) 13: Maintian sprinkler coverage per N.F.P.A. 13. Addition /relocation of walls, closets or partitions may require relocating and /or adding sprinkler heads. 14: Sprinkler protection shall be extended to all areas where required, including all enclosed areas, below obstructions and under overhangs greater than four feet wide. (NFPA 13) 21: Where storage height exceeds 15 feet and ceiling sprinklers only are installed, fire protection by one of the following methods is required for steel building columns located within racks: (a) one -hour fire proofing, (b) sidewall sprinklers at the 15 foot elevation of the column, (c) ceiling sprinkler density minimums as determined by the Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. (NFPA 13) 22: Storage of combustible materials in buildings shall be orderly and maintained not Tess than two feet from the ceiling and not less than 18 inches below sprinkler heads deflectors. (UFC 1103.3.2.2) 23: Racks designed for high -piled storage must comply with section 2207 of the Uniform Building Code.
