No permit presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this code shall be valid. 6: ** *FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * ** 7: The attached set of plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 8: Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout. 9: Clear access to fire extinguishers is required at all times. They may not be hidden or obstructed. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.5) 10: Aisles leading to required exits shall be provided from all portions of buildings. Aisles located within an accessible route of travel shall also comply with the Building Code requirements for accessibility. (UFC 1204.1) 11: The color and design of lettering, arrows and other symbols on exit signs shall be in high contrast with their background. Words on the sign shall be block letters 6 inches in height with a stroke of not less than 3/4 inch. (UBC 1003.2.8.3) 12: Internally illuminated exit signs shall have both bulbs working at all times. (UBC 1003.2.8.4) 13: Maintian sprinkler coverage per N.F.P.A. 13. Addition /relocation of walls, closets or partitions may require relocating and /or adding sprinkler heads. 14: Sprinkler protection shall be extended to all areas where required, including all enclosed areas, below obstructions and under overhangs greater than four feet wide. Random variations in the width of flue spaces or in their vertical alignment shall be permitted.
