Per the International Building Code and/or the International Mechanical Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days. Based on the above, you are hereby advised to: Call the City of Tukwila Permit Center at 206 - 431 -3670 to arrange for the next or final inspection. This inspection is intended to determine if substantial work has been accomplished since issuance of the permit or last inspection; or if the project should be considered abandoned. If such determination is made, the Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve a one -time e.tension up to 180 days. Extension requests must be in ruriting and provide satisfactory reasons why circumstances beyond the applicants control have prevented action from being taken. In the event you do not call for the above inspection and receive an extension prior to 11/06/2005, your permit will become null and void and any further work on the project will require a new permit and associated fees. PLAN SUBMITTALS: (Min. size 11x17 to maximum size of 2436; all sheets shall be the same size). (Drawing and structural calculations sheets shall be original signed wet stamp not copied.) 1. The engineering "Structural Calculations" submitted are not complete with the lateral load calculations The submitted Structural notes shall be more specific to the carport construction and shall accurately relate to the plans. (IRC R106.1.1) 2. Provide Structural load calculations. On the plans, show the shear wall/framing by the "tributary area (flexible diaphragm) ", as noted in the Structural Notes, that show where the loads will distribute too. (IRC- R301.1) 3. The plans indicate a 6" partition wall to be constructed but shows a truss rafter. This is not clear as to the intent. Revise the plans that accurately show that wall (if any) and its framing information. In addition, the plan sheet (1) does not accurately reflect the plan layout on the sheets submitted (C -1 & C -2) which also show a roof framing different from the plan sheet (1).1 found the detail references do not accurately reference other areas on the plan (example Detail B or should it be #1). (IRC- R106.1) 4. It is unclear as to whether the carport attaches to the house, and if so there is no detail as to how that is accomplished. Provide details, which clearly illustrate the intent and make sure the measurements and footprint drawings accurately reflect on all submitted sheets.
