Dear Permit Holder:
In reviewing our current records the above noted permit has not received a final inspection by the City of Tukwila Building Division.
Per the International Building Code and/or the International Mechanical Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the
provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such pernut is not
commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or
abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, you are hereby advised to:
Call the City of Tukwila Permit Center at 206 - 431 -3670 to arrange for the next or final inspection.
This inspection is intended to determine if substantial work has been accomplished since issuance of the permit or last inspection; or if
the project should be considered abandoned.
If such determination is made, the Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve a one -time extension aP to 180 days.
Extension requests mast be in writing and Provide satisfactory reasons why circumstances beyond the applicants control have
prevented action from being taken.
In the event you do not call for the above inspection and receive an extension prior to 01/28/2006, your permit will become null and
void and any further work on the project will require a new permit and associated fees.

At your request, we have reviewed the drawings for the new car rental service center site that is
being developed by Cendant Car Rental Group and that is to be located at 15820 Pacific
Highway South in Tukwila, WA. We have also reviewed the drawings of the existing construction
in order to give you our opinion as to the proposed demolition.
We understand that the primary structural elements of the project are a remodeled bowling alley
for a maintenance facility and a remodeled theater for administration offices with part of the
theater demolished. The bowling alley and theater were originally constructed in about 1957 and
have been modified somewhat since then. The remodeling for this project is expected to
generally leave the primary structural elements such as the roof framing, structural walls and
columns unchanged.
In our opinion, the demolition that is proposed will leave the essential gravity and lateral force
resisting systems intact as originally built for the portions of the buildings that remain. The
remaining portions, in our opinion, will be no less stable than they would be had demolition not
taken place.
The buildings are located in an area of high seismicity and a Tier 1 Evaluation to the Life Safety
performance level as defined in ASCE Standard ASCE /SEI 31 -03 "Seismic Evaluations of
Existing Buildings" is now being prepared by our office for the final construction documents on
this project. Based on the results of this evaluation, recommendations will be made as to the
level of seismic improvements that would be required for the building in it's final form.

12. ALL EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS REMAINING AFTER DEMOLITION DAMAGED DURING
DEMOLITION OR CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S
EXPENSE TO THE SAiISFACTI0N OF CENDANT, BDA AND THE CITY OF TUKWILA.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, TO ROADS OR
ADJACENT PRIVATE PROPERTY, CAUSED BY HIS ACTIVITIES AND ALSO SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OTHER WORK REQUIRED PREVENTING SUCH DAMAGE.
14. ALL DEBRIS AND UNSUITABLE MATERIAL WITHIN THE AREA OF WORK, WHICH
ARE NOT INCORPORATED IN THE WORK, SHALL BE REMOVED TO A LEGAL
DUMPSITE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTRACTOR.
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXERCISE CARE WHEN WORKING NEAR EXISTING
UTILITIES AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DAMAGE, BREAKAGE OR LEAKS
CAUSED BY HIS WORK. CALL USA 48 HOURS BEFORE DIGGING.
16. IF WORK IS NOT PERFORMED AT NIGHT, THERE SHALL BE NO HOLES OR

OCCUR FROM 8 PM TO 6 AM. ALL HOLES SHALL BE BACKFILLED OR PLATED FOR
