This tenant improvement application may be submitted for non- structural interior construction which is authorized
under an existing approved blanket permit agreement. It is the responsibility of the applicant to be aware and
comply with all the terms and conditions as set forth in the agreement.
The work is limited to that shown on the plans as submitted with this application, and such work Is limited to non-
structural interior construction only. The following work is not covered under the blanket permit process and
separate approvals, permits and inspections are obtained through the applicable agencies.

BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION

Application Submittal - Application and plans must he complete in order to be accepted for plan review. Make
sure to fill out the application completely and follow the plans submittal checklist which follows. Handouts are
available at the Permit Center which provide more in -depth detail on preparing the submittal.
Authorized Agent - The applicant must be are authorized agent as identified in the Blanket Permit.
Fees - The permit fees are based on valuation of construction as declared by the applicant on the application, and
shall include all the work to be covered urxier the permit. The valuation will be reviewed and is subject to revision
by the Building Official to insure compliance with current fee schedules. To obtain a fee schedule, contact the
Permit Center at 433 -1851.

INSPECTIONS
1. FRAMING - After rough -in inspections such as mechanical, plumbing, gas piping, electrical and fire stopping is in place.
2. INSULATION - After framing approval, but before installation of wallboard. Baffles must be installed to keep attic ventilation
points clear.
3. SUSPENDED CEILING - raster diffusers, lights and seismic bracing.
4. WALLBOARD FASTENING - Prior to taping (See UBC Chap. 47 and Table 47G).
5. PLAN CHECK INSPECTION - Immediately after the Tenant Improvement Permit is picked -up by the applicant.Work may not
proceed until the City Inspector delivers the plans and new inspection card to the site. This inspection should be
scheduled at the Permit Center when the permit is obtained.
• Construction will not proceed past required inspections.

• The Building Permit and approved plans shall be picked -up by the applicant within 24 hours of notification that the
permit is ready. Failure to do so may result in a stop work order.
• Construction may not deviate from that shown on the plans as submitted at time of application.
• All corrections shall be undertaken within three (3) days of notification by Building Inspector, unless otherwise agreed to
by both parties.
• No more than 30 days shall elapse between the last required inspection and the "Building Final."
• Unauthorized occupancy and /or use of the remodeled area shall not occur until the Building Inspector completes the
"Building Final," which takes place after the Building Permit and Permanent Inspection Card has been issued.
• The City reserves the right to stop work at any time that in its judgment the work presents a safety problem, warrants a
building permit prior to continuing work, is not proceeding according to approved plans, or otherwise would not qualify
for consideration under the blanket permit process.
• The following work is not covered under the blanket permit process. This work shall not start until approvals and permits
are obtained through the applicable agencies, under their normal process:

As requested an MTC inspector arrived on site for pallet rack anchor bolt inspection.
Inspected placement of anchor bolts for conformance with the plans, original details and Rupert Engineering details.
Inspected pallet rack expansion bolts for racks from door 18 south. Bolts used were Hilti Quik bolt II 1/2x4 '/" and Sup -R -Stud
' /s "x4 V ". Bolts were installed per the plans and per the manufacturers specifications.

Gentlemen;
As requested an MTC inspector arrived on site for welding inspection.
Inspected welding of pallet rack base plates for conformance with original details, Rupert Engineering details and AWS D1.1 -94.
The welding of base plates exceeds the minimum required per Rupert Engineering. The welds were visually acceptable.
The welder was Duane Springer with Wezly -D- Company. The welder was not WABO certified.
The expansion bolt inspection will be performed upon completion.

The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. Maintain sprinkler coverage per N.F.P.A. 13.
Addition /relocation of walls, closets or partitions may
require relocating and /or adding sprinkler heads.
All new sprinkler systems and all modifications to
existing sprinkler systems shall have fire department
review and approval of drawings prior to installation
or modification. New sprinkler systems and all
modifications to sprinkler systems involving more than
50 heads shall have the written approval of the
W.S.R.B., Factory Mutual, Industrial Risk Insurers,
Kemper or any other representative designated and/or
recognized by The City of Tukwila, prior to submittal
to the Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No sprinkler
work shall commence without approved drawings. (City
Ordinance #1742)
2. The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for
each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be
of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10B:C) dry chemical type. Travel
distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less.
(NFPA 10, 3 -1.1)
Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in
the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on
shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9), and shall be installed so
that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5

feet above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9)
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain
view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view,
they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire
Extinguisher ", with an arrow pointing to the unit.
(NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC Standard 10 -1)
Fire extinguishers require monthly and yearly
inspections. They must have a tag or label securely
attached that indicates the month and year that the
inspection was performed and shall identify the
company or person performing the service. (NFPA 10,
4 -3, 4 -4 and 4 -4.3) Every six years, dry chemical and
halon type fire extinguishers shall be emptied and
subjected to the applicable recharge procedures. (NFPA
10, 4 -4.1) If the required monthly and yearly
inspections of the fire extinguisher(s) are not
accomplished or the inspection tag is not completed, a
reputable fire extinguisher service company will be
required to conduct these required surveys. (NFPA
10A -4 -4)
3. No point in a sprinklered building may be more than
200 feet from an exit, measured along the path of travel.
(UBC 1003.4)
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, bolted,
barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All
locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC
1207.3)
Dead bolts are not allowed on auxiliary exit doors
unless the dead bolt is automatically retracted when
the door handle is engaged from inside the tenant
space.
4. All electrical work and equipment shall conform
strictly to the standards of The National Electrical Code.

prohibited during the demolition phase of this project.
Remove and properly dispose of all waste material prior to
the close of the working day and as often throughout the
day as needed.

special fire permits may be necessary depending on detailed
