INSTALLING CROWN MOLDING CROWN MOLDING Is supplied in 10 fool lengths with factory squared ends and mitered ends for inside and outside corners. There are also double-mitered 10' lengths and 5'8" lengths. Generally, the vestibule area requires different sizes for different stores. You will have received the correct lengths based on the vesti- • bule dimensions supplied to Vacuform. The front side of the vestibule will use either the double- mitered 5'9" length (Part #822694) or 10'0" length (Part #822692). The back side of the vestibule will use either the dou- ble- mitered 5'9" length (Part #822695) or 10'0" length (Part #822693). The double- mitered lengths usually need to have excess length cut from center of piece. Make cut so that dentits fit property when pieces are rejoined or the part can be field mitered if a joint is undesirable in the center of the part. The 10' lengths are only used in custom situations. To avoid waste, be certain that the proper piece Is cut for each area. In- stallation sequence should start at mitered corners and continue toward center of each roof section. To fit a corner, place two mitered pieces on the bottom stringer at a corner. Butt the angled ends together and check the M. Filing and/or sanding may be necessary on any joints to assure a close tit. After fitting, the • corner pieces are to be permanently joined using the angled CORNER CONNECTOR. Apply construction adhesive between pieces and on connector. Position molding in place on stringer; center connector on back side of joint. Further secure connector to polyurethane using #8, 1/2" hex head sheet metal screws. FASCIA PANELS (continued) The center panel (cast one installed per side) must have excess length cut out between two ribs. When last panel Is cut to fit, there should only be about th" space between the cut pieces. The aluminum divider joint (PM Number 812155) slips between the cut pieces. NOTE: Please be aware of weather conditions during Installation of ABS '' panels. ''II the temperature Is extremely cold, a slightly larger gap may be necessary for the divider. Instead of 1/2" gap, a maximum gap of Ws should be used. • During extremely hot weather a gap of I 2" should be used (this is a maximum and minimum dimension). When fitting final panel, two ribs on either side of divider may not fag the same distance apart as other ribs. It is preferable that spacing between these two ribs is less than normal rather than greater than normal. 9 INSTALLING TOP RETAINER As ABS panels rest against trusses, retain top panels with "Z" type TOP RETAINER ( #812151), flange (1W dimension) rivets to side of top truss stringer. Holes are pre - punched to accept Va" rivets in retainer. (Top truss stringer will need to be drilled.) Edge of flange to be flush with top edge of top truss stringer. AU retainer ends butt together. You will need to cut the pre-painted plywood pieces to shape and install using straight retainers cut from a 60" length plus the curved retainer. Screw or nail retainers Into plywood. INSTALLING CORNER CAPS This is the final step before installing the lighting system. CORNER CAPS are used In pairs for Inside comers and outside corners. Lay one cap on top of top buss stringer and over edge of top retainer, flush with end of stringer. Lay another cap on stringer on other side of comer. Vacuform determines this situation and furnishes non- ribbed panels in your shipment. The non - ribbed panel spans from one corner to another and Is installed In much the same man- ner as any comer panel. The panel must be trimmed to length to lit the opposite corner.
