All -City Landscaping gas tanks. Dear John: The Fire Prevention Code dictates the following items that must be complied with before approval for operation will be granted: 1. Clearly identified and easily accessible switches or circuit breakers shall be provided at a location remote from the dispensing devices, including remote pumping systems, to shut off the power to all dispensing devices in the event of emergency. This switch *hall be located not less than 15 feet nor more than 75 feet from the dispensing devices. 2. The dispensing units shall be mounted on a substantial concrete pad or otherwise provided with means to prevent damage from vehicles. 3. After completion of the installation, including any paving, that section of the pressure piping system between the pump discharge and the connection for the dispensing facility, shall be tested for at least thirty minutes at the maximum operating pressure of the system. Such tests shall be repeated at five year intervals thereafter. 4. Each service station shall be provided with at least one approved fire extinguisher rated at least 20 B -C, located not more than 75 feet from the dispensing devices. 5. Each tank shall be vented through approved piping not less than 1 *" inside diameter, terminating not less than 12 feet above adjacent ground level. 6. All piping before being covered, enclosed, or placed in use shall be hydrostatically tested to 150% of the maximum anticipated pressure of the system, or pneumatically tested to 110% of the maximum anticipated pressure of the system, but not less than 5 psi (gage) at the highest point in the system. This test shall be maintained for a sufficient time to complete visual inspection of all joints and connections, but for at least 10 minutes. 7. Upon completion of the above requirements and satisfactory insPection by this office, a special permit will be issued for the storage and handling of flammable liquids per Fire Prey. Code Sec. 16.13.
