NET CONTENTS OF CYLINDERS FOR ALL GASES d which remains in the cylinder. At a given temperature, the pressure in a cyl- inder containing a liquefied compressed gas such as nitrous oxide, cyclopropane, or carbon dioxide, will remain approxi- mately constant until all of the liquid has been withdrawn, at which time the pres- sure drops in relation to the rate at which the remaining gas is withdrawn. As long as liquid remains in the cylinder, the true contents can be determined only by weight. In cylinders charged with a non - liquefied compressed gas, the pressure in the con- tainer is related both to temperature and the amount of gas in the container. For such gases as oxygen, ethylene, and heli- um and oxygen mixtures, cylinder content may be determined by pressure; i.e., at a given temperature when the pressure is reduced to half the original pressure, the cylinder will be approximately half full. tDD tBB tAA EQUIVALENTS 1 Cubic Foot ... 7.48 gallons ... 28.3 liters 1 Gallon 3 785 liters 0.132 cubic feet 1 Liter 0 264 gallons 0.035 cubic feet Printed in U.S.A.
