The proposed connection consists of a Simpson IlL35 flaming angle at each eviumn top, bolted to both the tops of the columns and to the terming they support. Please refer to the attached sketch, provided to me by Mr. KrusseL The vertical leg Oat' the 11L35 is bolted through the top of the column, :using diameter • achine bolts, with a strap washer at the other end of the bolts. Please cote that of a an a such that Jocstte i nch ,fio pil,,,g_top of the cot inn. The inner holes, near the bend of the angle, should not be used for the vertical leg. The horizontal leg of the angle should be bolted up through the wood canopy beam, which consists of multiple 2x6's nailed together. Two vertical 1/4" marline bolts should be used for this peat of the connection. Any two of the 4 pre- drilled holes are acceptable. The bolt locations should be chosen so that they are located entirely within the 1.5" thickness of an individual 2x6, at least 1/2" clear from the edge of the 2x6. The holes shall not be located through a joint between 2x6's. Based on my review of' the items noted above, and with the restrictions described above, it is my conclusion that the method of attachment described above is adequate to resist the connection loads as required by relevant structural codes. Any construction, alteration, improvement, or repair of personal property, except this chapter shall apply to all mobile /manufactured housing.
