There were two comments attached to this correction letter, both from the Building Division and both were related to the deck roof. They were as follows: "Please submit plans to meet one of the following options. 1. Provide engineering to support the non - conventional roof post, including connections. 2. Revise plans to use UBC conventional framing standards where non - conventional metal posts are currently proposed. In addition to the above stated revision, please submit additional detail including where the proposed roof ledger connects to the existing house. An additional elevation drawing with the ledger connection detail is required to answer the following questions: Is the existing house one or two stories. Are you proposing to lag bolt the ledger to the existing plates ?" Since this letter, I have been advised by a licensed structural engineer of the State of Washington that the deck roof is not feasible as detailed in the initial submitted drawings. At this time, I would like to withdraw my request for permitting the deck roof and just proceed with permitting of the as -built deck. Therefore, all specifications of the deck roof have been removed from the revised drawings and a new revision date of September 2, 2003 has been put on the drawings. An authorized representative of the United States Government, the State of Washington, or any incorporated city, town, county, township, irrigation district, reclamation district, or other municipal or political corporation or subdivision of this state; 2. Officers of a court when they are acting within the scope of their office; 3. Public utilities operating under the regulations of the utilities and transportation commission in construction, maintenance, or development work incidental to their own business; 4. Any construction, repair, or operation incidental to the discovering or producing of petroleum or gas, or the drilling, testing, abandoning, or other operation of any petroleum or gas well or any surface or underground mine or mineral deposit when performed by an owner or lessee; 5. The sale or installation of any finished products, materials, or articles of merchandise which are not actually fabricated into and do not become a permanent fixed part of a structure; 6. Any construction, alteration, improvement, or repair of personal property, except this chapter shall apply to all mobile /manufactured housing.
