Concrete with pH levels of 9 or above must be rinsed with a solution of one part muriatic acid to ten parts water. This should bring the pH level down to an acceptable point which would not impair the adhesive. The concrete slab should also be checked for moisture at several locations. A vinyl backed car mat or inverted water glass taped down with duct tape and allowed to remain in place for 24 hours should trap condensation from the slab, it if is present. A hygrometer (moisture meter) con be used to give a more immediate reading. Installation of carpets with Enhancer Plus may sometimes require installation methods unique to that product. All the Enhancer backed carpets can be easily installed using the outlined methods of installation. 1. FLOOR PREPARATION 2. ADHESIVES CERAMIC TILE PART I: GENERAL 1_ 3- (A) Before beginning installation. the floor should be free of dirt. oil. point or other debris which could possibly impair adhesion of carpet to the floor. All depressions, crocks, or protrusions should be poched or leveled per section 03346. (B) (C) installation should not begin if the room or slob temperature is below 65 ". Adhesive applied to on extremely cold slab will dry without developing adequate bonding properties. (A) Show Industries guarantees the installation of "Enhancer III + - backing only when Subset - 1000 Premium Multi Purpose Adhesive is used in accordance with the application instructions printed on each container. a 3/32 x 3/32 "V" notch trowel must be used for the adhesive application. (B) Enhonder Plus can be installed with Subset -2000 Pressure Sensitive Adeshive in areas where (c) S. :A, It New concrete slabs or existing slabs on or below grade should be tested for moisture and alkalinity prior to beginning installation. If moisture is present, the General Contractor or Building Owner should be advised and a determination mode if installation is to continue.
