Inspect and maintain this stabilization weekly and immediately before, during and following storms. 29: Downspouts, driveway, patio and drainage from other impervious areas shall be collected in an on -site storm drain system. Drains shall be 4" minimum diameter, PVC schedule 40 or corrugated poly ethylene pipe with a minimum 1% slope for gravity discharge to location approved by the Public Works Department. Downspouts shall not connect to footing drains. Footing drain and downspouts may share a single discharge pipe downstream of the lowest footing drain. 30: Driveways shall comply with City residential standards. The foundation dimensions at the garage door opening and lateral restraint panels do not match the overall dimension given on the foundation plan 3. The lateral restraint panels at the garage do not meet the prescriptive code requirements for width or tie -down device uplift capacity. 4. At minimum a thickened slab is required for the interior brace walls. 5. The 1s and 2 floor brace walls at the kitchen/bath /stairs can not be offset more than 4 feet from each other. 6. The sale or installation of any finished products, materials, or articles of merchandise which are not actually fabricated into and do not become a permanent fixed part of a structure; 6. Any construction, alteration, improvement, or repair of personal property, except this chapter shall apply to all mobile /manufactured housing. A mobile /manufactured home may be installed, set up, or repaired by the registered or legal owner, by a contractor licensed under this chapter, or by a mobile /manufactured home retail dealer or manufacturer licensed under chapter 46.70 RCW; 7. Any construction, alteration, improvement, or repair carried on within the limits and boundaries of any site or reservation under the legal jurisdiction of the federal government; 8. Any person who only furnished materials, supplies, or equipment without fabricating them into, or consuming them in the performance of, the work of the contractor; 9. Any work or operation on one undertaking or project by one or more contracts, the aggregate contract price of which for labor and materials and all other items is less than $500, such work, or operations being considered as of a casual, minor, or inconsequential nature. The exemption prescribed in this subsection does not apply in any instance wherein the work or construction is only a part of a larger or major operation, whether undertaken by the same or a different contractor, or in which a division AFFCONT 1/13/00 of the operation is made into contracts of amounts less than $500 for the purpose of evasion of this chapter or otherwise. Habitable space shall have a ceiling height of not less than 7 feet p inches,'except as otherwise permitted in this section. Kitchens, halls, bathrooms, and toilet compartments may have a ceiling height of not less than 7 feet measured to the lowest projection from the ceiling. Where exposed beam ceiling members are spaced at less than 48 inches on center; ceiling height shall be? measured to the bottom of these members. Where ex- Posed beam ceiling members are spaced at 48 inches or more on center, ceiling height shall be measured to the bottom of the deck supported by these mem- bers, provided that the bottom of the members is not less than 7 feet above the floor. Section 1203.3, UBC. 4. Range & Dryer Vents. Ducts used for domestic kitchen range ventilation and clothes dryers exhaust shall be of metal and have smooth interior sur- faces. Ducts shatl be substantially airtight and shall comply with the provi- sions of Chapter 6, UMC. Exhaust ducts shall terminate outside the building and be equipped with back draft dampers. Section 504.2, 504.3, UMC. 5. Moisture Exhaust Ducts. Moisture exhaust ducts for domestic clothes dry ers shall terminate on the outside of the building and sha!l be equipped with a back -draft damper. Screens shall not be instilled at the duct termination. 'Ducts for exhausting clothes dryers shall not be connected or installed with .sheet metal screwy or other fasteners which will obstruct the flow. Clothes dryer moisture exhaust dints shall' not. be connected to a gas vent connector, gas vent or chimney. Clothes -dryer moisture exhaust ducts shall not extend into qt through ducts or plenums. • • Length Limitation. Unless otherwise permitted or required by the dryer manulcturer's installation instructions and approved by the building of ficial, domestic dryer moisrsrfs exhaust ducts shall not exceed a total com- bined horizontal and vertical length of 14 feet including two 90-degree elbows. Construction employing posts or poles such as columns embedded in earth or ethbedded in concrete footings in the earth may be used to resist both axial and lateral loads. When wood joists or the bottom of wood structural floors without joists are located closer than 18 inches (457 mm) or wood girders are located closer than 12 inches (305 mm) to exposed ground in crawl spaces or unexcavated areas located within the periphery of the building foundation, the floor assembly, including posts, girders, joists and subfloor, shall be approved wood of natural resistance to decay as listed in Section 2306.4, UBC. When the above under -floor clearances are required, the under -floor area shall be accessible. Accessible under -floor areas shall be provided with a minimum 18 inch -by -24 inch (457 mm by 610 mm) opening unobstructed by pipes, ducts and similar construction. Demonstration of compli- ance shall be made available for the inspector at the final inspection.
