EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition).
No application shall be extended more than once.

The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for
each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be
of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10B:C) dry chemical type. Travel
distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less.
(NFPA 10, 3 -1.1)
Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in
the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on
shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9), and shall be installed so
that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5
feet above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9)
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain
view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view,
they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire
Extinguisher ", with an arrow pointing to the unit.

2. No point in a sprinklered building may be more than
200 feet from an exit, measured along the path of travel.
(UBC 3303(d))
Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, bolted,
barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All
locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC

Obstructions, including storage, shall not be placed
in the required width of an exit, except projections
as permitted by the Building Code. Exits shall not be
obstructed in any manner and shall remain free of any
material or matter where its presence would obstruct
or render the exit hazardous. (UFC 12.104(a))
Dead bolts are not allowed on auxiliary exit doors
unless the dead bolt is automatically retracted when
the door handle is engaged from inside the tenant
space.
Exit hardware and marking shall meet the requirements
of the Uniform Fire Code. (UFC 12.106- 12.111)
When two or more exits from a story are required, exit
signs shall be installed at the required exits and
where otherwise necessary to clearly indicate the
direction of egress. (UBC 3314(A))
Exits shall be illuminated any time the building is
occupied with light having intensity of not less
than 1 foot candle at floor level. Fixtures required
for exit illumination shall be supplied from separate
sources of power for Group I, Divisions 1.1 and 1.2
occupancies and for all other occupancies where the
exiting system serves an occupant load of 100 or more.
(UBC 3313 (a)(b))
3. All new sprinkler systems and all modifications to
existing sprinkler systems shall have fire department
review and approval of drawings prior to installation or
modification. New sprinkler systems and all modifications
to sprinkler systems involving more than 25 heads shall
have the written approval of the W.S.R.B., Factory Mutual,
Industrial Risk Insurers, Kemper or any other
representative designated and /or recognized by The City of
Tukwila, prior to submittal to the Tukwila Fire Prevention

4. Required fire resistive construction, including

The contractor shall first locate and expose the existing 6" storm pipe
(AC pipe) in the vicinity where it crosses the proposed trench line of
the new 6" sewer pipe at approximate station 2 +10 before proceeding
with any other work. This shall be done to verify bottom of pipe
elevation, ensure pipe clearance, establish sewer grade, and confirm
that there are no pipe joints at the crossing.
Contractor to verify existing invert elevation of 16.0 at Manhole #1.
Remove existing concrete sewer line and 8"x6" Wye and dispose of
off site. Supply and install new 6" PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe. The new
sewer grade shall be 0.008 ft /ft.
0 7 Supply and install 6 inch Tee, 6 inch Clean Out, 6 inch Wye, and all
incidental pipe and fittings necessary to connect the Office lateral to
tie new 6 sewer. Refer to Detail #1 and Tukwila Standards S -1, S-2,
& S--11.
`supply and install Type II 48" Catch Basin (Sta. 1 +30) to be used as
a Settling Chamber. The Storm Drain downstream of Settling Chamber
:hall be plugged before continuing work beyond Sta. 1 +30. Refer to the
Settling Chamber Detail, Standard Plans Details B -1 e & B -1 z, and Tukwilo
Standard S -8 in the Appendix. Kor -N -Seal gaskets shall be used.
Cut & dispose of necessary segment of 6" AC Storm Drain and connect
upstream system to new structure using Kor -N -Seal gaskets. Contractor
i
shall supply all labor. Material shall be in compliance with the Standard
Specification and the Tukwila Standards.
Plug existing 6" AC storm drain in accordance with the Standard
Specifications Section 7- 04.3(4)F.
Supply and install Type II 48" catch basin to serve as a Decant Station.
Install according to Decant Station Detail, Standard Plans Details B -1,
B• -•1 e, B -1 z, B-2, and B -2a in the Appendix and as directed by the
Engineer.
New 6" PVC Sewer to cross under existing 6" AC Storm Drain. The
8 pipe crossing shall not occur within 2 feet of any pipe joints in either
the storm drain or the sanitary sewer. A minimum vertical separation
of 2 inches shall be maintained and a concrete "saddle" shall be poured
as directed by the Engineer. Refer to Detail #3.
Supply and install new 48" Sanitary Sewer Manhole. Refer to Detail 2 and
Tukwila Standards S -3, S -4, and S -8. Kor -N -Seal gaskets shall be used.
y..i:•Niy and install one (1) 90 degree elbow at outlet of Sand and
0;1 /Water Interceptors and one (1) 90 degree elbow at outlet of CS #1
03 shown on the plans. Elbows shall be removable and installed per
