Handouts are available at the Building counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements. Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review. VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit Is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations: The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once. SECURITY AND AFTER HOURS WORK. It shall be the Contractor's solo responsibility and liability for the security of any materials and /or equipment related to the work. Since the Shopping Center employs security personnel to protect the Shopping Center property, it will be necessary to register any construction personnel working after hours with the Shopping Center Manager. The Contractor shall provide the Shopping Center Manager with the name of any personnel working after hours as well as a phone number at shich the Contractor's superintendent may be reached after hours. The Shopping Center Manager will then give this information to the security supervisor. After hours, any individuals found in the work area not registered with security will be removed from the site. 8. SAFETY. The Shopping Center Manager may stop any work and the Contractor will correct any item which is in violation to 0.S.H.A. standards or may, In the Shopping Center Manager's opinion, cause injury or harm to the public or Shopping Center property and the Contractor shall be fully liable for any costs of damage or delay as a result of such action. 9. SIGNAGE. The Contractor is not `allowed to post any company name or sign on the storefront temporary barricade or building exterior. However, the Contractor shall post all signage as required by Shopping Center Manager for public safety or general warning. 10. BELOW- GRADE CONSTRUCTION. Prior to beginning any below -grade work, the Contractor shalt verify the location of any underground utility services. Any damage to existing underground 'services will be repaired as directed by the Project Coordinator and charged to the Contractor. 11. INTERRUPTION OF UTILITY SERVICES. The Shopping Center Manager must be notified at least 72 hours prior to any modification to utility services that will temporarily interrupt the services to other tenants or to the Shopping Center. 12. NOISY CONSTRUCTION. The Shopping Center Manager has established working hours when the Contractor may performs "noisy construction (check with the Shopping Center Manager for these restricted hours.) The Shopping Center Manager reserves the right to order an immediate hauit to any work that is, in the Shopping Center Manager's opinion, disruptive to ' the nominal operation of the adjacent Tenants and /or Shopping Center. 13. TRASH REMOVAL All trash will be confined to the tenant space in which the work is being performed (otherwise •,s directed by the Shopping Center (Manager) and removed at the end of each and every day by the Contractor. Any trash found in the service corridors, truck dock, adjacent tenant spaces, and /or` public areas will be removed by the Shopping Center Manager and billed to the Contractor at a rate of $50.00 per man hour plus equipment costs. (Any trash dumpster location must first receive the prior approval of the "Shopping Center Manager.) Under no circumstances are the shopping Center trash compactors to be used by the contractor. 14. SPRINKLER SYSTEM. The contractor must notify the Shopping Center Manager at least 48 hours in advance of making any modification to the existing fire protection system(s). No Shopping Center sprinkler system will be left drained over night. All systems will be charged and operational when workers leave for the night. in the event the work requires a modification to the existing fire . protection system, the contractor dealt be required to obtain the owner's fire insurance underwriter's approval prior to performing such modification.
