Mayor VanDusen called the Special Meeting of the
Tukwila City Council to order and led the audience in
the Pledge of Allegiance.
JOE DUFFIE; JOAN HERNANDEZ; DENNIS ROBERTSON,
Council President; CLARENCE MORIWAKI; ALLAN EKBERG;
STEVE LAWRENCE.
MOVED BY DUFFLE, SECONDED BY ROBERTSON, THAT
THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE BE READ BY TITLE ONLY.
MOTION CARRIED.
Mayor VanDusen read an Ordinance of the City of
Tukwila, Washington, declaring the intent of the City to join and be
annexed by the King County Rural Library District, requesting the
concurrence of the District Board of Trustees, and requesting the
County Council call a Special Election in the City and the District for
March 10, 1992 for the purpose of submitting the annexation to the
voters.
MOVED BY DUFFIE, SECONDED BY EKBERG, THAT
ORDINANCE NO. 1619 BE ADOPTED AS READ.*
Trish Ekberg, Library Advisory Board, informed Council the Board
had reviewed the ordinance and interlocal, and they support it
unanimously (three board members present and voting).
*MOTION CARRIED.
Council President Robertson read a thank you letter from Brownine
Troup 175 thanking the Council and Park Department for letting them
plant trees during the City's Tree Day celebration.
MOVED BY HERNANDEZ, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT
THE MEETING BE ADJ 1�UED. MOTION CARRIED.
