Handouts are available at the Building counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements. Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review. VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once. Enclosed you will find a copy of the City's typical residential site plan. Information on that plan is to be reflected in your final site plan submittal. 2. Access: Per the typical plan enclosed, provide 2' contours for both existing and final grading. Identify specific slopes of driveway (City requires 15% maximum for all driveways). Identify type of materials (all weather surface materials required) for driveway. Identify City of Tukwila Standard apron and curb /gutter plans to be used for the construction of proposed driveway. Identify width of driveway and dimension from nearest point of driveway from nearest property line. 3. Sewer: Identify lowest floor elevation (relative to 212.0 sewer stub elevation identified on plan). Show on plan proposed sanitary side sewer from end of existing stub to edge of proposed building and show cleanouts at bends and at point side sewer exits proposed single family dwelling. Identify invert elevation at point side sewer leaves structure. Identify slope of proposed sanitary side sewer. Identify size and type of material to be used for side sewer and type of bedding and backfill. 4. Water: Identify meter and service from public line to structure. Identify size of meter (typical 3/4 "), type of material, bedding and backfill. Identify water meter, in public right -of -way, at property line. 5. Anchorage shall consist of two 3 /16 -inch by I -inch steel straps cast at least 12 inches into the chimney with a 180 - degree bend with a 6 -inch extension around the vertical reinforcing bars in the outer face of the chimney Each strap shall be fastened to the structural framework of the building with two 1 /2 -inch bolts per strap. Where the joists do not head into the chimney the anchor straps shall be connected to 2 -inch by 4 -inch ties crossing a minimum of four joists. The ties shall be connected to each joist with two 16d nails. Metal chimneys shall be anchored at each roof and ceiling with two 1 /2 inch by 1 /8 -inch metal ' straps looped around the outside of the chimney insulation and nailed with six 8d nails per strap to the roof or ceiling framing. (d) Chimney Offset. Masonry chimneys may be offset at a slope of not more than 4 inches in 24 inches but not more than one third of the dimension of the chimney in the direction of the offset. Where lined, the lining shall be cut to fit. (e) Change in Size or Shape. Changes in the size or shape of a masonry chimney, where the chimney passes through the roof, shall not be made within a distance of 6 inches above or below the roof joists or rafters.
