Tukwila, WA 98168 Re: Tukwila Municipal Court Criminal Complaint No. 2593 • Dear Mr. Kendall: The referenced criminal complaint concerns the. City's allegations that you began work on certain roof repairs without a required building permit. Thereafter, City building inspectors posted a "stop work" order and informed you by certified mail dated July 11 that no further work was permitted until you obtained a building permit. Upon subsequent inspection on July 22, City inspectors noticed that the "stop work" notice had been removed and the roof repair had progressed. Our concern is that you worked right through a valid "stop work" order, even after receiving the notice of July 11. I understand that you have now applied for a building permit and, once issued, we will likely agree to dismiss this criminal matter upon payment of $50 administrative court costs. This is a criminal matter, however, which will require your appearance at arraignment at which I suggest you enter a plea of not guilty. I also understand that you have concerns with the effect of the City's Sensitive Areas Ordinance on your property. As you know, the administration is working with the City Council in an effort to alleviate or eliminate many of the SAO impacts on single family residences. Bear in mind, however, that these SAO concerns are separate and distinct from the complaint issued with respect to the "stop work" order violations.
