Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review. VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once. Fuhrman Regarding: Tideco Tenant Wall Modification Our Job No. 91 -K089 Dear Pat, At your request our office made a site observation visit to the Tideco Tenant Space, located at 704 Industry Drive, Tukwila. I met with you at 7:45 A.M. September 11th, and accompanied you to the site. The purpose of the observation visit was to review the building where, a new window opening study was to be made. A new 6'x4' window opening in an existing single story tilt -up precast concrete wall panel is projected. The window i$ to be centered in the tenant portion of the exposed wall length of 12' -0 ", thus leaving a 3'-0" section of wall at the end. The roof is constructed of a plywood penalized with 2x6 @24 spanning eight feet to 4x16 purline spanning 24' -0" to a 6x cantilevered /drop -in beam system. Our office made a review and determine that the window opening will not structurally impair the building's capability to support the imposed vertical and lateral loads. From a wind /seismic standpoint, the building has ample shear wall support. The vertical loads due to deadload plus snow load are adequately supported by the concrete section acting as a beam to bridge across the opening. Our office did not think it necessary to reinforce the opening with additional steel. Care should be taken in sawcutting the concrete from the inside not to overcut.
