PAUL WHITTLESEY SUBMITTED REVISED PLANS ON 8NOV91. ON 14NOV91 I REVIEWED THE REVISED PLANS AND FOUND THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE INSTALLATION OF THE TWO AIR CONDITIONING UNITS WOULD EXCEED THE 3.4 BTUH /SF THRESHOLD WHICH WOULD ALLOW THIS AREA TO BE CONSIDERED AN UNCONDITIONED SPACE. I CALLED PAUL AND INFORMED HIM OF THE REQUIREMENT TO PROVIDE THERMAL INSULATION FOR THIS SPACE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRESCRIPTIVE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WSEC. HE AGREED TO INSTALL FURRING AND R =11 INSULATION ON ALL EXTERIOR WALLS, AND .__HE WOULD AN ADDITIONAL LAYER OF R-19 INSULATION TO THE EXISTING LAYER AT THE CEILING. SINCE HE AGREED TO DO THIS I WOULD SO NOTE ON DRAWINGS AND APPROVE THIS METHOD OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE ENERGY CODE. 2. THE 2X8 CEILING JOISTS ARE NOTED AS SPANING 19' -3 ", THIS IS ALLOWABLE PROVIDED THAT THE STRESS GRADE OF THE LUMBER USED IS AT LEAST HEM - FIR #2. RED LINE NOTED ON REVISED PLANS. 3. THE QUESTION OF GENERATOT ACCESS FOR REMOVAL OR REPLACEMENT, WAS RESOLVED BY THE INSTALLATION OF A 4'WIDE DOOR TO THE GENERATOR ROOM. THE SPECIFICATION SHOWN ON THE PLANS INDICATE THAT THE GENERATOR IS 3' WIDE AT ITS MAXIMUM WIDTH. THE MAX. LENGTH IS 7'- 5--1/4" AND THE INSIDE DIMENSION AT THE DOOR IS 8' -0 ". VanDusen, Mayor October 9, 1991 The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All. Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) (UFC 10 -1 (3 -1)) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 feet above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6) (UFC 10.301) Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire Extinguisher," with an arrow pointing to the unit. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC 10.301) 2. No point in an unsprinklered building may be more than 150 feet from an exit, measured along the path of travel. (UBC 3302(d)) Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. The exciter is 8 Pole with battery driven field boost, utilizing a rotating silicone rectifier design, and is mounted outboard of the main bearing for quick removal shourd a serviceprob- lem arise. • REGULATION Excitation is provided by GENERAC's regulator. This advanced de- sign, solid -state system maintains 1% regulation thro)rghout its operating range. Should an extra heavy load drop the output frequency the regulator automat Ica lly adjusts the voltage to maximize motor starl- ing Capability. As the engine speed stabilizes the regulator provides a constant voltage output. This regulation system provides a continuous monitor out the AC output to insure constant voltage even with changes in the ulation D GENERATOR FEATURES • The generator is a lour pole, revolving field type, directly connected to the engine shaft through a heavy duty, flexible disc which assures per - r i ..nent alignment. • The generator meets temperature rise standards for class "r Insula- tion as defined by NEMA MG1 -22.4 and 'NEMA MG 1 -1.65. Rotor, stator and insulation are impregnated twke with class "F" varnish. • All models have passed a three phase symmetrical shod circuit test to assure system protection and reliability. • During prole -type testing this unit was tested for motor - starting ability by measuring the voltage dip with an oscillograph. • All modets utilize advanced wire-Itarnessdesigntc insure reliable Inter- connection within the circuitry and special rubb:: boots on termination and connection points for environmental protection. • The magnetic circuit, including amortisseur windings and skewed stator design, provides a minimal level of waveform distn:tion and an eiectra- magnetic interference levet. This meets accepted requirements for stern dard AM radio. TV and MARINE RADIO TELEPHONE APPUCAt•IONS. • The voltage waveform deviation, total harmonic content of the "AC" waveform and Y.I.F. (Telephone Influence Factor) have been evaluated to acceptable standards in accordance with NEMA MG1.22. ■ TEST CRITERIA APPLICABLE TO THE SD080 SYSTEM: ✓ PROTO -TYPE TESTED ✓ SYSTEM TORSIONAL TESTED ✓ ELECTRO- MAGNETIC INTERFERENCE ✓ NEMA MGi 22 EVALUATION ✓ MOTOR STARTING ABILITY • SHORT CIRCUIT TESTING ■ SOLID- STATE, FREDUENCY 'COMPEN• SATED VOLTAGE REGULATION. This state- of-the-ad power maximizing regulation system is standard on all Generac models. It provides optimized FAST RESPONSE to changing load conditions and MAXIMUM MOTOR STARTING CAPABILITY by electronically torque-matching the surge loads to the engine.
