Handouts are available at the Building counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements. Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review. VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once. I EHIvilT CENTER December 2, 1991 Roof demolition and safty barracades, Frederick & Nelson Warehouse. I have visually inspected the subject roof collapse. Column B3 was pushed off its base, causing the main support beams in bays A2, B3, and A4 to fall. The purlins attached to these beams also fell to the ground. The removal of the debris and damaged beams will occur at grid A2 to C4. An 8' -2x4 stud partition will be erected 10' north of column line C and 10' east of column line 4. Additionally a double row of safety tape will be strung along column lines D and 4. The gas lines, fire sprinkler lines, and any other water lines will be terminated at column lines D and 4. The electrical ser- vice will also be disconnected and secured at column lines D and 4. The purlins terminating at column line 2 will be strapped to the 9" x 34" GLB use PA -28 Simpson ties. Prior to removal of any beams via the crane, the base of colums B2, C2, and C3 shall be secured to the concrete foundation using four 4 x 8 x 3/8" steel angles with two 3/4" machine bolts to 34WD wedge it anchors. Two 3/4" machine though bolts are to he used to secure the posts to the angles. The concrete wall at bay 2 -3 and bay 3 -4 will be braced from the exterior using two ecology concrete blocks and tilt up angle bracing on each side of the failed column line 3. The warehouse staff will not be allowed hack until the gas lines, sprinkler and electrical conduits are properly terminated, the 8' restraining wall is in place, and the safety tape is strung. 12084 98th AVE. After demolition is complete a new partition will be erected north of the loading door at bay 8 -C, column line 1, in order to allow for use of the box car loading dock. The demolition of the failed roof area is critical to the quick repair and security of the warehouse, and your quick response to the application is greatly appreciated.
