TYPE OF INCIDENT: Residential Burglary, Officer Involved Shooting

DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:
At 11:20 A.M., Tukwila Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a residential burglary in progress. When
officers arrived, they ordered the suspects to surrender. The suspects failed to stop and fled In a car. The
driver drove the car into an officer knocking him down. Shots were fired but the suspects fled southbound on
E. Marginal Way S. The suspect vehicle was stopped about 1 /4 mile away in the 12200 block. The driver of the
fleeing car was taken Into custody and treated for gunshot injuries. He was taken by Medic One to Harborview
MC. The other suspect fled on foot Into the Industrial complex west of where the vehicle was stopped. At 3:00
P.M., the second suspect was found hiding in an air conditioning unit outside of a building about 300 yards
west of where the car stopped. He was taken into custody without incident.
Federal Way Police are investigating the officer Involved shooting portion of the investigation.
Tukwila Police were helped by several agencies: Redmond canine, King County Deputies, Seattle Police, Renton
Police, Des Moines Police, and Washington State Patrol.
