Provide an occupancy separation around the stairway and provide a door access with a 1-3/8" sold wood door with self closing hardware and latching device. The occupancy separation may consist of a wood frame wall with 5/8" Type 'X "gypsum wallboard on the garage side only. 2) Re: Exterior stairway serving the second floor: At least one intermediate landing shall be provided for each 12 -feet of vertical stairway rise measured between the horizontal planes of adjacent landings. Show all dimensions of landing and include proposed structural framing on plans. • The stair section remains with a vertical rise of 13' -4': This is contrary to code requirements. Please review and provide an alternate design that meets code requirements. 3) The truss manufacturer has designated connection and bracing requirements for the roof trusses. Specify (on the plans) the mechanical connection to be used to connect each truss to plate. See Note #6. Specify the proposed bottom chord bracing to be used. See truss specifications. • The truss specifications require bottom chord bracing of a rigid ceiling directly applied or 8-2-11 o. c. bracing. Determine which method you desire to use, and note this on the plans along with the proposed material (to be used), • Note number 6 of the truss specifications calls for a mechanical connection of truss to bearing plate capable of withstanding 303 LB uplift at joint 2 and 303 LB uplift at joint 6. Based on a lot size of 10,373 square feet, the Floor Area Ratio of all existing and proposed structures is 56 %. The maximum is 50% in this zone.
