As per ICBO specifications, nuts need to achieve 65% of maximum foot pound for the specified nut and bolt type, which was 125 FP minimum. As per Engineer requirement, each nut was tested with a torque wrench set at 125 FP. All nuts tested, with exception of a sporadic few, conformed to ICBO 5225. Nuts that were out of conformance were corrected at that time, then retested achieving the 65% needed for conformance to said code and Engineer specifications. The crack was repaired, using a single 4x3x1/4" steel angle positioned diagonally, in lieu of two horizontal steel angles indicated in Section 4, of Sheet S -1. The change was made because of insufficient clearance to an existing sprinkler pipe. The repair shown in section 4 was intended to be used over a wide variety of locations, including those where high chord forces may develop along the edge of a warehouse roof diaphragm. The crack at grid 12 is located along a line where there is a concrete shear wall in the north portion of the building, and a glue -lam beam across the remainder of the building that is used as a drag strut.
