Y a wEA PARKS COMMISSION PROJECT UPDATE December 2012 CURRENT PROJECTS 1 2 414, tin Description - December 15th Staff hosted a 50% Construction Tour for the Board and the public to see the project progress. Most of the demolition work has been completed throughout the facility. The transition from demolition to replacement and rebuild work has now begun and can been seen in a couple different areas around the facility. For example, the Locker Rooms have new mounting hardware installed for the toilets and sinks. The benches have been relocated, and the flooring and wall work will begin on the 17th. The Tukwila Pool Advisory Committee hosted a `Painting Party' at the pool over a couple weekends in late November and early December where both the men's and women's locker rooms were painted. Target Completion Date: Early February 2013 Project Stage: Design, RFP's, and Submittals - Pre - Construction Project Budget: $1.66M ( Aa1 a4:: npl I If IIIIIII�IIIIIIII Description - Bid Award has been given as approved at the December 3rd City Council meeting. The Parking Lot & Access Improvements Project work started last week and demolition has already happened. The coordination of this project with the rest of the work on the inside of the facility is going very smoothly so far. The goal is to have the concrete work completed prior to the Grand Re- Opening. Weather will be a factor on accomplishing this goal during this time. The construction of this project will be less disruptive to our patrons if completed during the closure. Target Completion Date: Weather Dependent (hoping for Fall but could be Spring 2013). Project Stage: Design Project Budget: $60,000 Fa� IID1W ��IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII1111111111 Description - Bid Award has been given as approved at the December 3rd City Council meeting. A Pre - Construction meeting was held on Thursday last week for the Roof Project. Work on this project will most likely begin in spring when the weather meets manufacture's requirements. Target Completion Date: Weather Dependent (hoping for Fall but could be Spring 2013). Project Stage: Design Project Budget: $85,000 ff 1J 1 fqi Description - Golf staff has been conducting research for this but no solid decisions have been made yet. Target Completion Date: End of year 2012 Project Stage: Researching Products Project Budget: $10,000 �(l �Ilf?J�jrr 1 ifff Description - A few items have been labeled as potential items for replacement to become more energy efficient but nothing official has been approved. It is still in the Preliminary Audit stage, looking for areas to make improvements. Target Completion Date: June 2013 Project Stage: Design Project Budget: $2,000 - $5,000 f vi 1 PI ��IIIIIIIJ Description - Recently word from King Conservation District that this project has been awarded (or re- allocated) $50,000 for design work of Phase 2. We originally had been awarded the money for acquisistion of the west parcel for Phase 2 but things moved quicker on the acquisition so the money had not yet come in. After explaining the situation to KCD they were gracious enough to re- allocate the purpose of the funds to design work for us. We also just received notice of a $10,000 grant from 4 Culture for Archeology Survey for Phase 2. Target Completion Date: On -going Project Stage: Testing for Phase 2 /Restoration /Maintenance Project Budget: Unknown but lots grants for this project rpJril, Description - Robert has been tracking any emails that come to him in regards to the porspect of Disc Golf in Tukwila, there have been those in support and those not in support of Tukwila creating their own course. Target Completion Date: Unknown Project Stage: Brainstorming /Planning Project Budget: N/A right now 1 ITV '17/r,- AM (A/1' f Description - No new news, on back burner. Target Completion Date: Fall 2012 - Spring 2013 Weather Dependent Project Stage: Scope Planning /Design Project Budget: $15,000 - $20,000 tiff IMO Description - This project grew in size to also encompass concrete and asphalt repair work on the actual bridge deck roadway so Public Works was brought in and the project was handed over to them to manage since the majority of the scope is their now. The pathway repair work is still part of the project. Target Completion Date: Fall 2012 - Spring 2013 Weather Dependent Project Stage: Design Project Budget: $30,000
