VanDusen, Mayor The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. (UFC 12.104b) Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 10.402(a). Exit signs shall be installed at required exit doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of a contrasting color with the surrounding area and shall have letters not less than six inches high with a minimum letter width of 3/4 ". (UBC 3314) (UFC 12.108) Exits shall be illuminated at any time the building is occupied. An emergency system shall automatically provide exit illumination upon failure of the main power supply. (UFC 12.107(a)(b)) 2. All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the written approval of the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers, then by the Fire Department. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved drawings. GENERAL NOTES 1. f h© Contract Agreement, Instruction to Bidders and these drawings shall be a part of the Contract Documents and thoroughly reviewed by the Contractor and subcontractor(s) prior to the submittal of a bid. 2. Unless otherwise stated in the instructions to Bidders, the Contractor shall pay for all permit fees, Inspection fees, etc. necessary for the total completion of the work as shown on these drawings. 3. The Contractor and subcontractor(e) shall visit the job site during the preparation of the bids and shall verify on dimensions and conditions in the field. Any inconsistencies between the drawings and actual field conditions shall be reported to the Project Coordinator prior to the Contractor's bid submittal. 4. Any existing fire protection or enunciator system(s) (ie. sprinklers, smoke detectors, alarms, etc.) must remain operational at all times unless otherwise approved in advance by the Shopping Center Manager. (See Rules and Regulations #14.) 5. Prio1 to beginning any demolition of the storefront areo, the Contractor shall ensure that the storefront barricade is moved out approximately four feet into the mall. The barricade shall be constructed and sealed air tight with visqueen on the side of the barricade to prevent dust from entering the mall and ddjoining tenant space in accordance with 6. The General Contractor shall paint all new exposed electrical equipment, conduit, piping, etc. on the outside of the building to match existing. 7. The Contractor shall be responsible for oil temporary lighting and any other temporary utilities and services necessary for the completion of the work. 8. ARCHITECT'S STAMP. The architect's stamp and signature is valid only for the original date on the drawings. All revisions must be initialed by the architect to make that revision valid. 9. The architect signing this drawing has not inspected the Premises shown hereon to determine the presence or absence of asbestos or other hazardous material & assumes no liability with the respect to the detection/ abatement of such materials. II. PRECONST. REQUIREMENTS Prior to starting the work, the Contractor shall arrange a pre - construction meeting between the Shopping Center Manager and the Contractor's superintendent at the Shopping Center offices to review the Rules and Regulations, Drawings and the Construction schedule. in addition, the following must be in the possession of the Shopping Center Manager before any work may begin. a. A complete list of contractors, subcontra- ctors and suppliers to be used. b. A copy of each of the local and state building permits ( if required) and any additional permits as may be required by governing authorities. c. Certificates evidencing the required insurance coverages as set forth in the Rules and Regulations #6. d. Performance, labor and material payment bonds as set forth in the Rules and Regulations #1. 3.. SITE ACCESS. MATERIAL DELIVERY AND PARKING. The Contractor shall be responsible to coordinate all material deliveries for the work. All deliveries shall be made through the service door of the tenant space in which the work is being performed via the adjacent truck dock and /or service corridor. AT NO TiME WILL THE TRANSPORTATION OR DELIVERY OF MATERIALS BE ALLOWED EI IN OR ACROSS THE MALL PUBLIC AREA WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE SHOPPING CENTER MANAGER.
