No point in a sprinklered building may be more than 200 feet from an exit, measured along the path of travel. (UBC 3302(d)) Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. (UFC 12.104b) Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 10.402(a). Exit signs shall be installed at required exit doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of a contrasting color with the surrounding area and shall have letters not less than six inches high with a minimum letter width of 3/4 ".
