This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. UILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. XPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). The NMR is equipped with a broadband multi- nuclear wide bore probe with variable temperature capability. The materials analyzed will be advanced coatings, composites and resins. Samples will be prepared within the laboratory. The samples are exposed to radio frequency energy in a magnetic field, and the resultant signal is collected, analyzed, and displayed. When the ' information collected is compared with known standards quantitative characterizations can be made. This data is used in the synthesis of new compounds with specifically tailored properties. The hazards associated with this device are minor. The samples and standards may be chemically hazardous, but they are used in very small amounts. The instrument itself generates a powerful magnetic field and uses radio frequency energy. Because of this, persons with heart pacemakers should be warned prior to approaching the lab. Doors will have Simplex locks. Walls will meet STC -40 sound attenuation requirements. This section contains information and instructions necessary for the facilities and installation preparation. Locate the NMR System in an area not subject to abrupt temperature changes. Optimum _room temperature is 68 deg. F (20 deg. C), and temperatures in excess of 90 deg. F (32 deg. C) will not allow for adequate cooling of the electronics. Humidity should not exceed 85 %. The power and air supply, described in detail later in this section, should be located no more than 10 feet (3 meters) from the rear of the NMR System and not more than 4 feet (1.2 meters) above the floor. Clearance of at least 3 feet (one meter) should be allowed behind the console for access during installation /service for alignment and cable connections. The magnet must be surrounded by clear space of of at least 4 feet (1.2 meter) and be a minimum of 5 feet (1.6 meters) from the NMR console. Door openings between the delivery entrance and the installation location should be a minimum of 36 inches (91.5 cm) wide and 72 inches (183 cm) high.
