Attendance: Commissioners — Sean Albert, Joanne McManus, Alice Russell Absent — Don Scanlon Staff — Dave Johnson Approval of Minutes: Joanne McManus moved to approve the Minutes of the March 20, 2013 meeting. Alice Russell seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously. Citizen Comment: no citizen comment Business Items A. Project Update — The Commission reviewed the Project Update in the Agenda Packet. B. Event Calendar — The Commission reviewed the Event Calendar in the Agenda Packet. Dave Johnson noted that the Grand Re- Opening event for the Trail has been cancelled. C. Tukwila Tree & Environment Advisory Committee Update — Sean Albert provided brief summary that the Committee appears to have largely completed their work and are preparing for a work session presentation for Council and Planning Commission. D. PROS Plan Update — Dave Johnson updated the Commissioners on the status of the PROS Plan process. We are in the middle stages of the public outreach and engagement process with the opening of the survey, and upcoming workshops and focus groups. E. Department Update — Staff are quite busy putting final prep together for Summer. Update provided on the Backyard Wildlife Fair this past weekend. F. TMC Review — Commissioners reviewed a draft update of the TMC related to roles of Parks Commission. Commissioners will have opportunity to offer final suggestions at the June meeting. G. Parks /Facilities Guide — Commissioners will take the next 4 -5 weeks to review the information on our Park facilities and update it for unique attractions and historical information to the parks. This information will be combined with staff input to update the Parks /Facilities Guide. Commissioners will provide their updates at the next meeting. Other A. Dave Johnson shared information with the Commission related to an Ordinance for consideration at an upcoming Council Meeting related to the City's Leash Law. It appears the updated Ordinance offers authority to any law enforcement officer to issue civil infractions under this provision. Dave noted that this will apply city -wide, not just for park property. After brief discussion, the Commission supports enforcement of the Leash Law. 3 Adjournment: Alice Russell moved to adjourn at 6:30pm. The motion was seconded by Joanne McManus and the motion passed unanimously. These are being resolved at no additional cost to the pool aside from staff time. Operations continue to dictate the fine - tuning of new systems as expected but things are getting worked out very smoothly. The final change order was just processed and then the project will enter into the closeout process.
